    No respect

    Senior Project Manager (Current Employee)
    Sydney (Australia)

    ProsN O T H I N G

ConsCIO, Program Manager, IT operation lead, team leaders (except idiots) all resigned.

One day, 7 people were called into a meeting room and terminated by being given 10 mins to pack things and asked to leave the premises.

They think people are numbers and figures to be disposed/recycled by replacing with the cheap off-shore. Their aim is not to build the foundation by integrating people, but make the quarterly number look good by sacking people and cutting expenses. There are in the game of cost cutting by sacrificing people. They will see the result in 3 years.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHopeless.

    Immature & Irresponsible

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Sydney (Australia)

ProsThe chance to handle broad range of works give opportunities to grow if you are willing to invest time and work longer. The chance comes because Marsh put workloads of more than one person can handle so that to reduce the headcounts and expenses.

ConsMarsh has no interest in knowledge transfer, improve employee, treat colleagues fairly. Good people have left and bad remain, then keep hiring wrong people. Classic pattern for an organization to collapse. There is no sense of responsibility and ethics.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo hope for improvement. Needs to hit the bottom to realize the reality.

ConsLack of information provided to complete daily job functions.
No insurance training yet am responsible for a vast array of insurance related knowledge.

    POOR LEADERSHIP IN FINPRO

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsGood benefits, colleagues and collaboration across departments.

ConsFINPRO leadership is detached and focused on "managing up" and taking care of their friends, rather than those colleagues that actually do the work. Performance reviews and bonuses are determined by a "beauty contest" under the corporate guise of "curve ranking", which does nothing but serves the purpose of leadership that punishes and retaliates against dissenters. I agree with the other commenter who noted that Marsh lies about giving raises. They do not…unless, of course, you are well-connected, OR you complain and they want to use you until they can find someone else to replace you!

    FINPRO

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat management, tools and process flow. Ability to learn a great deal. Supportive mangers etc.

ConsIf talent is your biggest assets, why not invest in them? Lack of raises, bonuses and adjustments for promotions shows managements mentality only higher ups get taken care of.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your intellectual capital. Show you care for employees, cause right now you don't!

If your department's NOI isn't stellar, your severance package may be on it's way from HR!

    Client Manager (Current Employee)
    San Antonio, TX

ProsPTO and Company Benefits for officers are very good - equal or better than industry standard. IT department and support does excellent job with keeping pace with change.

ConsUpper Management changes what they want from their workforce as often as they change their wardrobe - with each season! Employees need some stability - constant upheaval at management level creates stress.

Advice to Senior ManagementTop Management is more worried about image and how Marsh looks from the outside instead of providing a nurturing environment for their workforce. Get back to the basics of providing excellent service to the client by retaining the devoted, long-term employees

    Dog Eat Dog

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    London, England (UK)

ProsFair compensation. Quite a few knowledgeable and friendly colleagues. Nice, modern offices in Tower Place, London.

ConsVery political environment. Few career development opportunities. Need to constantly fight for yourself / what you believe in. Poor team spirit.

Advice to Senior ManagementAssess and reward people based on their actual performance, not solely what their manager thinks. Do not allow / support bullying practices in the workplace.

    Excellent workplace

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsVery interesting company with loads of opportunities for people willing to take them onboard. Plus very flexible and stimulating environment

ConsManagement needs to do his homework. Plus hr department can be absent sometimes. Facilities and IT system not the best of the lot

Advice to Senior ManagementWork harder on motivating your stuff. Sending emails or making surveys is not really the best way to share you vision
