    Pros

American owned company, Ward Nye talks the talk, but local mgmt. does NOT walk his talk.

    Cons

Upper management in the Denver area uses intimidation, arrogance, verbal and mental abuse to keep control

    Advice to Management

Clean house with sales and operations managers

    Pros

As a foreman you get a truck. There are some perks like you get to work while others sit at home in winter time.

    Cons

Key management are self serving lying hypocrites. Good managers just fall in line to keep their jobs. There is a throw everyone under the bus to get the attention off of you mentality throughout the entire division that poisons everything.

    Advice to Management

There is a reason why there is a high turn over rate. Look at the common denominator, its not the employees.

    Pros

Plenty of overtime pays the bills, good insurance

    Cons

$17/ yr yr of service toward your pension as an hrly employee.
It's who you are, Saftey rules are made up
punishments aren't the same for everyone.
     back stabbing management, favoritism,
no human resource dept/ relations=no rights as an employee

    Advice to Management

stick to your rules, get in touch with your employees, come up with a employee hand book for ALL to see and share, that doesn't just favor the company,

  5. Stable company - Very Low Salaries - No Growth Opportunities

I worked at Martin Marietta Materials full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company overall seems to be a stable business.

    Cons

This company does not like to see their employees grow unless they are Plant Managers. Everyone else needs to be content with where they are and expect not to grow in their current position. Many of the procedures with this company are ancient.

    Advice to Management

Place a higher value on existing employees and allow them growth opportunities.
