There is truly a special Company

    Senior Sales Director (Current Employee)
    Omaha, NE

ProsAn outstanding Corporate Company that puts is sales force and customers as top priority. I have been with Mary Kay for over 20 years and have worked the business very part time to eventually full time. You will grow personally and you will gain great life and business experience. The products are highly researched and fair priced. The Mary Kay Ash Foundation continues to make a difference in many areas in addition to Breast Cancer Research and Prevention of Domestic Violence. And 50% profit for a starter??? Why not! A great opportunity you can run with at your pace.

ConsYou actually have to book appointments and put some effort in :) The payoffs are many, but for those who have no discipline or zero interest in developing any, or who enjoy living in the negative moment, this company is probably not for you. But luckily at 40 years strong in 35 plus countries and debt free...it will thrive just fine with or without you :)

Advice to Senior ManagementWe love you generosity and your continued efforts to WOW us and make this Company get stronger each year. It is a privilege to be a part of this Company and my family feels the same way.

I Love My Mary Kay - You Will Too!

    Beauty Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsWho doesn't want all the perks of owning their own business? No Boss. No "Have to's". Set your own work schedule and pay scale. Meet people. Get on-the-job training. Positive people and secure company. Tax benefits. Family-oriented. Discount on products. Able to pass on the opportunity to anyone. No boundaries.

ConsWorking for yourself has it's own challenges. It's not a get-rich-quick thing -- You need to stay focused and be consistent. If you don't take it seriously, it will remain just a hobby.

Advice to Senior ManagementI love the values of Mary Kay. Women who are Directors and above, love to teach and help you succeed. There are no ceilings and they want you to be with them in the "Big Girl's Club".

    Fabulous

    Independent Beauty Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsWorking with Mary Kay as an consultant is the most rewarding business, because of the fellowship with the other members. Senior consultant works with you to help you grow your business and the other consultants give you pointer on how to make sales and book parties.

ConsThe trainings are continually and trying to find the right customers can be a little frustrating also keep products stock can be a little tough.

Advice to Senior ManagementI have know advice to management because they are well organize and have great perks and benefits in the organization.

    LOVE IT

Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsYou are in control of your schedule and I certainly have a lot of fun meeting and making friends with wonderful ladies. Plus, the make-up and sales perks are absolutely divine. There are plenty of incentives for doing your best and getting other ladies to become part of the Mary Kay dream.

ConsThe only con is that you have to start on your own. The clients are not given to you, so it's certainly not for those who are shy.

    Interesting Experience

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsYou make 50%!!!! and you have untapped potential. you can make tour business anything that you would like it to be. You also have a powerful team of of women behind you rooting you along.

ConsYou have to find the right director. Not all directors are in it to help others. and if you are easily talked into things you may end up with wuite a it of inventory that you don't even need, just to satisfy your director. so alway have inner talks with yourself on what your true goals are.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone!!!

Outstanding company, incredible consultants, excellent training and mentoring

Independent Beauty Consultant, Team Leader (Current Employee)
    Fishers, IN

ProsMary Kay is a debt-free, privately held company that operates by the Golden Rule, and teaches God first, Family second, Career third. This doesn't mean we don't work We work hard. It just means we prioritize our lives in this way. We work to support our families and serve God. I love the fact that it is a God focused organization. It is ethical, generous, and transparent. The training and mentoring are second to none.

ConsSucceeding takes hard work and a reasonable investment for inventory and business supplies. I personally don't see this as a "con" but some people might. Like anything else, it takes a while to learn.

You get as much as you are willing to put in

    Independent Beauty Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsI really enjoyed having fun during facial or spa parties with old and new friends. If you work hard, you can make a lot of money. Mary Kay provides a ton of great resources online and through the local directors. If you are in need of training, it is out there in some capacity. Plus, the product is AMAZING!! It is easy to sell products that you believe in.

ConsGreat consultants need to be self motivated (which is something that I struggle with).
