ProsGood training, and strong back office.

ConsLong hours with little reward many months.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

    extensive training

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Prosdecent pay, decent benefits, there is a lot to take from peers and network, multiple satellite locations, team work and effort

Constraining is long, tedious and a bit overwhelming, there is a lot of information that is covered and must catch on fast to be successful in position, serious call volume with an array of participant issues, 11 vacay days, 3 personal, 3 sick, must rollover 40 of those hours, scheduling is not the best

    Agent

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Newport Beach, CA

    ProsGreat working environment and training.

ConsYou have to pay for printing, parking etc... Sales cycle is long so if you do not have enough money to last a few months this is not for you. To get started it really depends on your natural market and who you know.

Strong company with good benefits, but needs culture change.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood Benefits (tuition assistance) and amenities on site

ConsLack of merit-based promotion and low payscale

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow talented individuals to flourish rather than prevent development.

Solid company with strong financial foundation

Knowledge Management Analyst (Current Employee) Springfield, MA

ProsIt provides pretty flexible work schedules include telecommuting/work from home and is understanding in inclement weather. Benefits are better than most companies.

ConsStuck in 20th century manufacturing mentality, too much emphasis on diversity and not unity of purpose. Very siloed culture where teams, groups, or business units are reluctant to share knowledge and information.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo attract and retain the employee of the 21st century, you have to stop seeing yourself as a mutual insurance company and more of a technology driven entity.

    Financial Services Representative

Financial Services Representative (Current Employee) Lexington-Fayette, KY

ProsGood leaders, good company name recognition amongst consumers, good trips provided for those with big sales numbers, good balance between work and outside life.

ConsNo salary, MUST know lots of potential buyers going into the business, no leads given, not enough sales training, sales managers aren't particularly accessible to the people they work with (they're often out on their own meetings trying to make sales).

Advice to Senior ManagementGive your representatives leads to call, fix things sooner (this agency went without a General Agent for about 3 months), do more sales training, create a less stuffy and "generic corporate" atmosphere.

Financial Services Professional (Current Employee) Walnut Creek, CA

ProsMake as much $ as you want. You are your own boss.

ConsSh*t home office staff. People there are just stupid and drag a$$ on everything.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement can suck it. They only watch out for who they choose.

Audit Consultant (Current Employee) Springfield, MA

ProsRelaxed Environment, Great Benefits and Health Care. Opportunity to grow within the company.

ConsIf you want to learn more and be cutting edge you won't like environment. Top performers are not recognized anymore than sub par performers have to bite your tongue and ignore it.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I'm still figuring this business out

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsAutonomy, independence, entrepreneurial, success pays well.

ConsMinimal training beyond sales and products. Learning complex implementations is totally on you. No salary makes it challenging initially.
