ProsIt is an opportunity for people who are good at sales to work with very nice people and make a good living.

ConsIt is a strictly commission sales job.

ProsUnlimited amount of resources for agents. Company brand and history. Ability to set your own schedule and work in markets of your choice.

ConsManagement cares more about hiring new agents then growing skills necessary to succeed. Revolving door. Most agents do not make it through the first year due to lack of training.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop a mentorship program for young agents.

    Reputable company with great support

    Agent (Current Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsGreat place to work for if you want flexibility. Not required to go into the office unless there's a mandatory meeting. Unlimited earnings potential. Great management team that very supportive and wants to see you succeed.

ConsCommission only pay structure. When submitting business strict underwriting requirements can sometimes throw you off guard when policies are declined and you end up owing NYL your commission back. Some trainers during orientation tend to make it seem as if selling insurance is easy until the reality hits when you're out in the field.

Decent place to work but they play favorites.

    Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
    Tampa, FL

ProsGood rewards if you can meet your metrics. Great holiday party with a gift auction. Most people are great to work with.

ConsPlay of favorites for any promotions or relocating to different departments. On sales team they would continue to change sales goals so the top tiers are unattainable unless you work overtime.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep consistent sales goals that are attainable during a normal work week. Promote management from within. Hire more employees to reduce mandatory overtime.
