    Pros

Great benefits, solid corporate structure, company works hard to keep employees and make headcount stay.

    Cons

Pay isn't great, quarterly goals are difficult as they are judged on the work you do outside of your day to day.

    Pros

Challenging work, leading edge technology, very good people and an aggressive company. Not everybody can make it at Maxim.

    Cons

Long hours, not enough resources, too much scrutiny for every penny spent.

    Advice to Management

Invest your time and focus on growing the company.

    Pros

Good people, good ideas, and I love what I do. The new headquarters is efficient and had plenty of room for growth, and the CEO is a good man.

    Cons

Career paths are not managed at all, and salaries are still lagging in comparison. Promotions are also lagging and good people continue to leave the company for better compensation.

    Advice to Management

Promote more, and do more to keep good performers. Too much attrition going on and we face problems not being able to keep the intended quality.

    Pros

Manager and his co-workers were extremely helpful
Exposed to people 3,4 levels up from me
Had some great lunches with the teams there
    Very friendly co-workers

    Cons

The fact that there is (see pros) 4 levels of management is of course common at a big company, but eye-opening to myself personally that I wanted to go to a startup

    Advice to Management

Enjoyed my 8 week project very much, but perhaps break it into two projects so you can take feedback from first and apply it to making second even better!

    Pros

Top talent gets recognized and hard work is not an option. Everyone at Maxim works long and hard, but compensation is usually consistent with the performance.

    Cons

Work/home life balance can be hard to balance. Upper management fixed on outsourcing many jobs and functions of the company.

    Advice to Management

When business is good the company should hold cash to prepare for the slower times rather than always be in a crises management mode. Also need a better method of retaining the top talent.
