Great company in a tough spot

    Intern (Former Employee) Sacramento, CA

ProsThis is a first-rate organization. People take their roles incredibly seriously, but it's also a very team-oriented community.

ConsBecause of the global decline in newspaper subscription, McClatchy has been forced to substantially cut down its workforce. The employees that do remain are stretched pretty thin as it's all hands on deck.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is doing the best they can to prepare the company to face the new reality of the newspaper industry, but a continued focus on the customer or newsreader is the only real way to ensure longterm success.
