    I worked at Medifast full-time

    Pros

It was nice to see people lose weight

    Cons

The focus was completely taken off weight loss and placed on dollars spent. If you want to be a telemarketer and perform robotic work, then this job may be for you. If you really sincerely want to be honest and help people run far, far away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of them don't understand weight loss.

I worked at Medifast full-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a Manager there was some formal training. I learned a lot about the Weight Loss business which I was new in and worked with some good people.

    Cons

There are too many promises of growth professionally and financially which became very clear were never going to be realized. The expectations from each level is far far off balance from reality that make the financial promises even more absurd!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate Leadership needs some real reorganization

I have been working at Medifast full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy commute if you live in Baltimore or Reisterstown. Co-workers get along well.

    Cons

Call center reps are in dead end jobs. Positions above csr are always filled from outside company. Zero growth for csr's. High turnover. Being micromanaged to the second. Not minute. Second.

I worked at Medifast full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Sundays off and helping others be optimistic to lose weight

    Cons

Very retail. Became more interested in clients buying food then their weight loss success. The counselors had no clue on how to motivate. They just read pamphlet's and kept very black and white.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be ready for sales and only sales. turnover hasn't helped be positive. All the qualified have left and now there's a few that are holding a thread of hope

I worked at Medifast full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You'll work with some very talented people (director level and under)
You'll be stretched thin, but have an opportunity to experience different roles and areas within the company giving you the opportunity to learn a lot.

    Cons

    Pay is terribly low
You'll be promised raises and opportunities to get you to stay, but then nothing will ever come of them.
Management (executive level and above) is a mess and most people in those roles are not qualified to be in then.
NEPOTISM! This company has a serious problem with hiring and promoting family members and people close to the family. Almost every person in an executive role is there because they are related to the family or know the CEO and most are completely unqualified for that role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your "worker-bees", they are the reason your company is still holding on, which is obvious given recent executive changes that have run a successful local company into the ground. Stop treating this company like it's a billion dollar international company. It is NOT! Please, save yourself some trouble and realize that - get back to basics.

You pay your employees disgustingly low, while executive level management are making millions. Given lower level employees truly keep the business running you might want to consider higher salaries and more appreciate for them or you will lose talented people.

Hopefully, someone is reading this and taking our comments into consideration. Your HR department is truly awful. No compassion for employees and they generally do not care about why they lost an employee. It's sad.

As this company has grown it's has become cruel, which was not the case when former owner Brad MacDonald was around. Getting back to where you were 4 years ago could go a long way. I never thought how happy I was with the company when I started could have ended the way it did - feeling used, and unappreciated

    Pros

Great products. Helping people get healthy and lose weight

    Cons

Corporate doesnt appreciate employees, low moral, high turnover. They dont advertise yet expect the Centers to meet quota via grassroots marketing. Poor business model.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop changing directions and implementing random ideas so much. HR needs to revamp recruiting, monitor morale,

I worked at Medifast full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pay was decent. Pretty solid benefits in terms of health care and paid time off accrued for full time employees.

    Cons

The center managers run their centers without any guidance or structure from corporate. Often the women running these centers are incompetent idiots who dont have two brain cells together. The centers are run on a culture of catty behavior. Everything is personal. If you suck up and disregard all sense of self-respect you will go far. If you have a brain and can think for yourself and voice this out loud you will be shunned, you will be denied holidays requested, and often you will be unfairly passed over for bonuses. Job is often monotonous. I was asked to lie to our members by my manager. You often spend a large portion of your day calling old members begging them to rejoin. You will have to clean bathrooms and also simultaneously be expected to be dressed in a blazer and business professional attire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not hire high school dropouts to run your centers. They are mostly idiots and do not know how to manage a staff of intelligent caring young ladies. You are a business that is devoted to health care and you need to treat your members like people, not dollar bills.

I worked at Medifast full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fun team members. Rewarding when you see people make positive changes with their health and lifestyle.

    Cons

No consistency. Unrealistic goals set by upper management. Lack of actual management from upper management. No true business plan in place. Center Managers and Assistant Sales Managers are not able to make any decisions without approval from District or Regional Management, even with things as simple as the schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to center staff input more directly as thisese are the people living and breathing the business day to day. Let center management actually manage their business instead of being just space fillers in a center.
