I have been working at Medifast full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are great. We have a nice work life balance. If you are getting your work done, leadership is understanding that there are responsibilities outside of the office that require attention as well. Internal training opportunities and benefits are strong. Having free Medifast food product and gym membership is a great addition to the benfits package.
Experience working in a fast paced environment where you are able to get your hands on a lot of different projects and build a diversified skill set.

    Cons

There has been a lot of change over the years, but it is a mid sized company so to be expected at some level.

I worked at Medifast part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    -great coworkers
    -fair pay
    -treated well
    -offers severance pay

    Cons

Mostly female work environment, however, since I was laid off I have heard the dynamics of the company have completely changed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was starting my way from the bottom hoping to get to the top after graduating, because Medifast changed all their management I was laid off. Even all the VPs knew who I was and would say hello to me rather than just walk by me like I didn't exist. I suggest all upper management try to restore the corporate Medifast to the great environment it used to be.

I worked at Medifast as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I worked on the R&D team, and they really care about making Medifast the best products available, and proving scientifically that they help people lose weight. Medifast does a lot to build a team environment, and has some great perks for employees.

    Cons

Sometimes hard to back the product when you don't like it yourself. Medifast is an intense program, so it's not for everyone.

    Pros

The mission is the key. I am happy to work for a company whose main objective is to help customers get healthy.

    Cons

Just like any company out there, there are growing pains. Change isn't always easy to deal with, but you just need to roll with the punches.

I have been working at Medifast

    Pros

Individual managers care a lot about their center, employees, and customers; the company is growing; the job is easy and straight forward; you get to know clients really well; you make a daily impact on peoples lives; most management (individual and corporate) are understanding and willing to work with you

    Cons

The company is growing too fast -- they recently laid of a ton of employees in the MD/VA/DC area; corporate hides things from centers; things are always changing so employees in centers are often doing things "wrong"; some corporate workers don't care about field employees; programs are crazy expensive which can make it hard to get and keep clients; this jobs is ALWAYS about SALES....some upper management pretend to care about health and weight loss but really just care about money; employees are put through long hours without much appreciatio
