    Pros

Flexible hours and great people to work with. The managers care about you and really try to help you learn and be successful within the company.

    Cons

I don't really have any cons. Things can get a little crazy when trying to reach meet deadlines, but that's what to expect from a bigger company I guess.

I worked at Meredith Corporation as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Wonderfully accommodating staff and work place environment. Everyone was incredibly helpful and the company promotes a great lifestyle

    Cons

The department seems to be in a process of re-organization and optimization. With so many moving parts, some editors seemed at a loss at what to do to improve.

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly and the people there are great at what they do.

    Cons

Not necessarily a con, but you must be ready to adapt to different situations which require new tools or practices to complete a project.

I have been working at Meredith Corporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I've worked at many publishing companies, and Meredith is the most balanced, most pleasant and most positive environment I've encountered. Friendly, down to earth people willing to help, access to senior-level management and opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Print and digital aren't integrated which is a major disadvantage for sellers and marketers. Things tend to move VERY slowly here, and they aren't big on real innovation - always feels a little behind the others. Mass layoffs are also fairly common, once or twice a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more opportunity for growth within the organization. There are 2 programs in place, but one seems to cater to senior management and the other to entry level. What about everyone else?

    Pros

Great benefits, friendly environment, managers care about the little guys. Everyone seems to really be a team player and are very welcoming of new employees.

    Cons

None that i have encountered yet. The only thing that may be a downside is the fact that you can be put on-call and rotating shifts may make your home life schedule tough to manage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it up.

I worked at Meredith Corporation as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

+ as an intern at meredith, you feel like you are a part of the team. You are given special projects and sometimes will get bylines or reviews on the website or in the actual magazine
+ they like to hire people who have interned for the corporation
+ the people are really kind and considerate, and it's an all around positive work environment
+ they are generally conscious of your needs and wants as an intern, and will send you to events, photo shoots, pr sit ins, and the lot. You also get to attend weekly meetings with the whole staff and you also get an opportunity to watch the editor in chief critique certain stories for the magazine
+ the beauty sales! Every month, like clockwork, they would have a beauty sale where one of the mags would empty their beauty closet and sell each item for a dollar. Not why I interned, but certainly a great thing if you like makeup!
+ the intern program is great, and you get to watch intern speeches and go to little events put on by hr. in retrospect, i would go back to this company because it was just that great.
+ great, nurturing environment, with a lot of respect for your personal time and efforts!

    Cons

    + unpaid
    + a little gossipy
+ who you know is definitely a thing, but what corporate job isn't like that?
+ no real career openings or opportunities
    + print is dying

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

compensate your interns or at least pay for their transportation. Other than that, you're doing great!

I have been working at Meredith Corporation

    Pros

Encouraging, friendly atmosphere where I feel supported and have the ability to do very well for myself.

Being in sales, I give myself a raise!

Meredith is a well established company that has been around for a while. They invest in their broadcast stations to help them be competitive and up to date.

    Cons

Commissions could be higher for products sold.

Commission levels change when people start selling too much of one product and doing well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensate your talented sales people where you can retain them and not lose them to other industries.
Provide a gas card - we beat our cars up, and this is VERY expensive. Though the commission can be good, the cost of doing this job is expensive. Other sales professionals have many more perks. For an AE who has brought in Millions to the company, a gas card and car allowance would be a great gesture.
