    Sad and dysfunctional

    Pros401K sharing, large parking lot, new rest rooms, centrally located, good security force on site

    ConsManagement is not trained in people skills but are trained in the metrics used to rate their employees. All that they care about is how many cases you complete per hour. The faster you work, the better they like you. But be careful about errors. Cases are scrutinized for what are called fatal errors. Too many of those and management will begin progressive discipline. They tell us we are exempt but then they require us to make up time for doctor's appointments. When we work overtime, we are paid a flat rate of $16/hour and not time and a half. They look for loopholes and if they had their way, we would pay them to work there. Very stressful dysfunctional punitive work environment. Employees who have been there forever and know the twighlighted systems are kept even though they have lost their usefulness. They have all the power because management knows they have knowledge they need to keep antiquated systems working. Raises are non-existent and you will become poorer working here. Yet, the review system is complex and time consuming. They want it to look good on paper and you must use their "elevator speech" about how great the place is at all times. Former employees often talk about post traumatic stress syndrome and cannot even drive by the building because of the negative sad feelings it engenders. If they were not the only game in town and the economy were better, there would have been an mass exodus years ago. So glad I found another job before they announced their outsourcing plans. My friends who remain there are stuck and quite depressed.

    Advice to Senior ManagementIt's too late now but respect your employees, pay them a living wage for the tremendous volume of work they do, and watch out for the loophole you found in order to pay them only $16 an hour for overtime. Someday that will come back to haunt you as employees talk about a class action constantly.

    Felt beaten down all the time.

    ProsThere were definitely some really good people there.

    ConsUpper management beat us down all the time. The company culture was very poor and it was clear they didn't care about us and only cared about making money.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet your acts together and show the employees they are worth something! Without us, you wouldn't be here.

    Stay as far away from this company as possible!!!!!

    ProsWill hire anyone off the street.

    Cons1) No investment in the employees.
    2) Massive hiring for this location to meet the quotas for state and Cary tax cuts.
    3) Way too many foreigners.
    4) Off-shore model is ridiculous to work with.
    5) Project Lead = Project Coordinators.
    6) Literally hiring people off the streets. They are very desperate.
    7) High attrition.
    8) Very low salaries.
    9) Benefits mediocre.
    10) Many positions are replacing their staff in other states as they are building their IT headquarters here, so very low morale or no cooperation from people that you have to obtain transition from.
    11) On-boarding program is about brainwashing the company history into your head.
    12) Feels like a very unorganized start-up company.
    13) Technically many years behind the curve compared to companies in this area but they believe they are a world class organization competing with the likes of Google!

    If you have any interest in your career, RUN........!

    Advice to Senior ManagementWake up and smell the coffee. Hire "true" local talent and stop the massive foreign hiring. You are creating a culture that is not well liked or respected! No wonder you have having such a hard time with recruiting in this area.

    Naming Rights Destroyed 3,000 Jobs....

    Advice to Senior ManagementDetail your ROI based on your Naming Rights...When you announced all you could brag about was that $500 Million Investment would bring you words....and I quote..."After every commercial break the announcers will say....Welcome back to Met Life Stadium..."...Possibly the most idiotic thing I ever heard in a Town Hall Meeting....$500 Million for what you thought would be free advertising and you can't even put a finger on the ROI after the question was asked time and time again at multiple meetings and then the CEO announces how he wants go on a Cost Savings Intitiative to save $4 Billion in 5 years..Then send 3,000 plus jobs southbound to save money,....You are a full time joke in the business....

    ConsSince 2012, this company has gone downhill. Horrible management with little knowledge of how to effectively manage and motivate staff.
    Too much work and severely understaffed. Random pet projects take the focus off of the work we should be doing. No respect for professionalism, workers experience or opinions. It feels they are just grasping at straws for a direction. Changing names of the same process...do it this way one year then next year do the opposite.
    Completely chaotic. The people currently in charge should not be. You wonder how they got there.
    There are wonderful people who work here but their strengths and assets are never used. Low morale, and lots of turn over especially among case managers.
    Also, not much room for advancement. It is just a job...not a career, career path or anything that you makes you feel like a professional

    Advice to Senior ManagementPromote people into management who have education and experience in successfully managing people. Your staff are your assets...use their expertise and treat them as professionals.

    IT in this place is a total mess.. RUN AWAY FAST !! IT management has no clue

    ProsIf you are a crappy employee there are plenty of places to hide in the bureaucracy.

    ConsThe new leadership does not care about the employee's. All they care about is shedding the expensive workers salaries in the Northeast. Making workers reapply for their jobs and move to NC or be laid off. This used to be a great place to work but now all of the good people that know how all the systems work are leaving in droves and anyone coming in to the IT dept has a giant pile of crap to deal with. It will be chaos there for the next several years. So enter at your own risk but remember I told you so.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet a Clue and take care of the top IT performers. Give them opportunities to work in any Metlife site. Not all IT guys want to live in NC no mater how nice of a place it is.

    Bad, Bad, Bad

    ProsThe benefit package is decent.

    ConsThe company is currently in search of an identity. There is no ease of conducting business, and that's where the probl begins. Due to the current state of the company, what once took 2 weeks, now takes 2 months. The seemingly acceptance to reduce a field force by over 40% has many wondering about senior leaderships commitment to a Field Distribution channel. There is much to be concerned about when considering this company. Do NOT make the mistake of wasting any time considering this complete and absolute mess.

    Remote Employment turned my home into a sweatshop

    ProsPay was competitive with other employers. Remote work is great when management is experienced working with remote employees, and in theory this should have been a very easy, efficient arrangement.

    ConsThis employer does not know how to manage remote employees, systems inadequate to support remote work, managers use intimidation and massive micro-management instead of getting to know their team members' strengths and working with them. Systems used to manage workflow are designed for health insurance claims which are 99% one and done, while disability claims can go on for months or even years. Highly frustrating as it is impossible to organize information in a logical manner. This workplace will make you tear your hair out.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHire experienced professionals and let them do their jobs. Micro-management makes employees miserable and does not improve service. Of 20 employees in my training group, only 3 remained after two years.

    ProsOther than being let go. I'm not a disgruntled employee

    ConsI don't think there is room for all the cons. You raise will be 400.00 to 700.00 a year . You will be told that's a good raise . Working weekends. HR issues with the reps in the field. You will be cursed at, abused and management will look the other way and find you at fault .

    Advice to Senior ManagementThere is no management. They are all looking out for themselves. They lie to everyone and back stab each other .
