Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS full-time for more than a year
Pros – Gained experience with customer service. Learned many skills that I feel will be good in the long run. I get a discount on my phone service monthly for working for MetroPcs.
Cons – I am at a franchise of MetroPCS (authorized dealer). I had seen the benefits of working for MetroPCS online and they are not even remotely accurate. I have not gotten a vacation in more than a year of work. I don't get any discounts on the the phones, yet every now and then a discount is given to us if sales of a certain phone are not doing so well. No 401K. No insurance. No bonuses. Crazy hours of work. And above all extremely terrible customers, yet what can you expect from someone that pays less than $100 for cellphone service.
Advice to Senior Management – All I could say is check how the franchises treat their employees. If workers don't push so much for sales there must be something wrong, don't you think? We wake up every day and wear the name MetroPCS on our shirts representing a company that in the end seems to never be there when we need it.

Former Employee – worked at MetroPCS full-time for more than a year
Pros – it was very laid back
Cons – management is bad, was there for 2 years and was manager of the store with a lot of responsibilities and was paid $9/hr
Advice to Senior Management – get some proper management training

Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS
Pros – pay ... IF you get a good rate coming on board
Cons – MANAGEMENT... the management here is tyrannical, functions on a good ole boy system, does not support the employees that do the actual work. Relationships determine career progress.
Advice to Senior Management – None ... new management is needed.

Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS
Pros – Free phone w/ crap service.
Get to talk to people all day.
Cons – Incompetent management
No fairness in promotion/advancement
Favoritism
Low pay/very low comission
Micromanagement/breathe down your neck environment
Idiot customers (most dont speak English)
Horrible benefits system
They don't care what employees think. This is huge. Basically rank is everything, and if you have more rank, then you're right (even when you're wrong), which is BS. Real leaders know when they're wrong. I have worked with good leaders and bad leaders, these people are all incorrectly trained.
Lots of uneducated people work for the company
Not intellectually stimulating
Advice to Senior Management – Establish a system to review leaders.
Listen to your employees.
Create a more aggressive performance based compensation plan.
Keep your employees better informed.
Provide benefits to all employees.
Create a leadership development program where ambtious employees can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to advance.
Provide more opportunities for advancement.
Provide tuition reimbursement.
Support and encourage education. (this leads to smarter employees who are more productive)
Listen to your customers. (this leads to better products that people actually want, which will in turn increase revenue!)

Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS
Pros – Free cell phone service while employed.
Cons – Management has no knowledge of what needs to be done, but gets incorrect information that sounds good, then goes with it, and work me be redone once it all fails.
Salaried employees who are systems engineers and administrators time is watched to the minute, even when we are called in the middle of the night and asked to work maintenance work at night.
No one is shown any respect.
OSHA laws are ignored.
Advice to Senior Management – Take look at the relationship, between engineering and operations.
Show respect to your employees, and praise them for good work, not just when they do bad.
