I have been working at MicroStrategy full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance. Co-workers are nice and cool. And the pay is OK in DC area.

    Cons

The top-level management is so poor. Re-org frequently. Not much opportunities to learn new technology. As a QE, you must spend most of your time learning its own product and configuring environment.
PMs usually don't know what they are doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change a CEO and CTO.

I have been working at MicroStrategy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very talented engineering team. Great working environment with an on-premise gym. The product they are building, especially the analytics platform is a powerful tool and knowing how it works is a very good skill in your career

    Cons

work-life balance and really the upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be focused and layout a long term strategy and stick to it.

I have been working at MicroStrategy full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The salary is OK. Work-life balance is good. Paid time off is generous. Many colleagues are nice and smart.

    Cons

During recent layoff, CXOs and SVPs did not show enough respect to R&D employees in Beijing Technology Center. Many people with good skills left the company or about to leave the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CXOs should show some respect to R&D employees.

I have been working at MicroStrategy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I love working with the people here. If you have a great manager and team, you're open to the wild ride. The perks can vary from year to year. Some include great holiday parties and onsite gym with free classes at HQ. The vacation time is also very generous.

    Cons

The top level of leadership can make things a bit challenging. You have to be willing to change directions constantly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice to have better work, life balance. It would also be nice to have an idea of the overall strategy.
