I worked at Microsoft as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great learning resources- Microsoft has a great environment where you are encouraged to learn as much as you can about your field.
Knowledgeable and passionate co-workers who always bail you out. You get to learn a lot from your peers.
Garage- My personal favourite. You get to showcase your creativity and coding skills and earn prizes at the same time!
Community-MS encourages people to give back to the community, both time and financial aid. I have seen people helping each other out.
Work-life balance - Flexible working hours and work from home are an added bonus

    Cons

    1) You get addicted to the free food, leisure time and the above pros. Coming back to college and adapting was very difficult.
    2) You sometimes feel alienated when you realize that everyone can dance except you.

Great compensation, fun activities, fabulous intern gifts- you can tell that money was really thrown your way as an intern.

    Cons

I worked at Microsoft as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Developers have their own offices. Because Microsoft has a longer release cycle than many software companies, the stereotypical "have to work overtime because the project is due" doesn't really apply. Very laid-back environment. As long as you get your work done and don't miss meetings, no one really minds when you work.

    Cons

As with any company with thousands of employees, sometimes you can feel like a grain of sand on the beach. As a developer, you don't have a say in the big picture of the company. If that's important to you, don't work here; find a start-up.

I have been working at Microsoft as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The company took good care of the interns, even the ones not in the Redmond location. Microsoft had a fun culture, interesting events, and an overall well organized intern program.

    Cons

Microsoft is a large company that can be stuck in process and organization, that might slow down work progress and stifle creativity in favor of organized productivity.

    Pros

    + World class researchers
    + Friendly environment
    + Great projects
+ Lots of perks for the interns
+ Weather is great during the summer
    Great experience overall

Nothing in particular. 3 months may not be enough for a full fledged project, so it takes a lot of effort, but it is worth it

I worked at Microsoft as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    - A lot of smart people around
    - All cutting edge technologies
    - High speed hardware availability
    - Free coffee and drinks
    - There are always people who are experts in your area of need
    - Nice playground, and on-campus cafeteria

    Cons

    - No free lunch/ dinner.
    - Very big company; so dependencies are large. Each department has their own priority. So, you have to stall your research until you hear back from the product team, which takes over a week sometimes.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible working hour, free sodas, nice gym membership, parking well available, once a month a party with wine. For interns there was also a subsidized car rental -- a good thing to take to see around, even though not a necessity for commuting as the company accommodation is just across the road.

    Cons

working in offices with very thin walls, if someone on the other side is having a lot of phone calls, it may get a bit disturbing. No free food as google has, having at least some fruit available through day would be nice...
