    Pros

    Great opportunity to be employed while making a difference in the lives of others. There are some incredibly wonderful people in this organization.

    Cons

    Some nepotism, and jealousy between departments due to different standards for different departments. Slow to promote and give salary increases. There are hidden gems in every department.

    Advice to Management

    Create more opportunities for people from different departments to get together and resolve issues or make improvements.

    Great company culture. Amazing product/service

    Cons

    Managed markets team is not up to par. Management is starting to put the responsibility of obtaining contracts in sales rep and tying our commissions to how they get paid from insurance.

    Advice to Management

    You can only put so much on your sales force before we no longer enjoy our jobs because we no longer get to "sell"

    -easy work -not much thinking involved

    -bad mgmt. -no room to grow -not many holidays -1 paid day of vacation/month -high turnover rate

    Pros

    Versatile schedule, constantly evolving company. Desire to encourage and build employee satisfaction. Fully covered benefits.

    Cons

    The company has experienced a large amount of negative changes recently. Company values are fake, literally just words on the walls. No raises, no bonuses.

    Advice to Management

    Develop and maintain employees. Follow through with promises. Listen to employees when they tell you there are big problems.

    Pros

    Benefits are paid by company including a HSA contribution Great co-workers

    Cons

    I share the same sentiment that many others have expressed. There is little career growth potential within certain departments and nepotism seems to be the only way to advance. Ridiculously low raises were given across the board this year without any consideration of individual accomplishments. So whether you are a mediocre worker or excellent worker, there is no incentive given to improve your performance.

    Advice to Management

    There are many hard-working, intelligent people who work for this company who go unacknowledged and unrewarded. When people "complain" they are voicing what has continue to go unheard. Maybe you can take a lesson on humility and acknowledge that the problems usually start from the top and trickle down.

    Pros

    James Slattery's presence inspires fear in middle management to behave and treat their subordinates with respect. There is a night and day attitude change in those individuals now that he's back. They couldn't pretend to be nicer if they tried. It also brings great relief to the workers as he has proven once again that he's a man of his word. (began cleaning house of the real problems after speaking with employees). ***Also, all the perks like BBQs are back because of him now that he's back and he knows that something went incredibly wrong with the company he created from scratch, and that's the type of environment he wants his employees to work in. Millennium does provide all of those perks. But that's aside the point. (see cons below which are the reason why so many people left) Upper management looks like they're finally seeing what middle management has been keeping from them for such a long time. (reasons for turnover, morale drop, etc). To be fair, upper management could have investigated a little harder, a little sooner. I cannot think of a single individual at that company that I know that doesn't work incredibly hard. Many intelligent people working for this company, which is why it's such a shame.

    Cons

    Heavy nepotism and a C.Y.A. first mentality with middle management. They circle the wagon as best they can and lie to upper management. about how the people who are resigning or terminated are to blame They created a toxic atmosphere that intimidated the majority of their employees on a daily basis that just wanted to work without some psycho breathing down their neck. Bullying became common place among supervisors, and the VP looked the other way. When management came up with a plan that wasn't working, lower level employees would identify the issues first and explain why the new idea wasn't or wouldn't work. Instead of being grateful, middle managements egos would inflate and take it as a personal affront. They would label these people as "complainers". Watching middle management scramble and come up with non-sense ideas on the fly,and insisting that they're working until upper-management is dissatisfied, then making another drastic change while blaming their subordinates. Or sticking with an idea that clearly was hindering progress (like filling out 3 separate logs instead of 1 to save time???). ***Employees were threatened directly by supervisors in a group setting about how easily replaceable they were because frustrated management didn't like that they themselves were responsible and revealed as incompetent, or couldn't keep the promises they made (in reply to the post on 2/26) ***Watching too many good people get pressured, bullied or harassed in a toxic environment to the point were they couldn't deal with it anymore.

    Advice to Management

    The man that owns the company is saying that he's not happy with what happened to his people. He said it directly to them in an apologetic manner. The problem with this company has nothing to do with changes or growing pains of the operations as others may have mislead you to believe. (I myself have been more than accommodating, volunteered for hard work instead of keeping my head down, and made sacrifices for the company like so many others have too.) It had to do with newly appointed (<1year) supervisors that were selected on the basis that they would obey and protect/cover/lie for each other first and foremost. (weasels). MIDDLE MANAGEMENT IS THE PROBLEM! Although we have a more open forum at the moment which started a short time ago, we did not for the longest time, preventing ideas from the people that actually do the jobs from giving advice on how best to make improvements. The ones that spoke up were labeled as "complainers" prior to this. I promise you that there is a wealth of knowledge on how to make this company into the idea you have in your mind. It's not going to come from an outside consultant (LEAN), it will come from the people that do the work on a daily basis. These people are intelligent, and most would be eager to help you. We've lost too many good ones already. Keep in mind there are some great ones that need to stay, but you still have more house cleaning as far middle management goes. Don't stop now. Including the Supervisor that's trying to save his job by making the post on 2/26/15. You need to realize that if you're getting the same story from different people in the company, in different departments, including former employees that aren't abreast of what's currently happening.....you're probably getting the truth.

    Pros

    - Upper management is approachable, and willing to work with you to make your day to day work life as best as it can be. - they have monthly 'events' where they feed everyone, there's music (Live harpists, live DJs etc.) and always go out of the way to have "Employee Appreciation Days" (=Free lunch and a break!). - Salaries are competitive - For full time, salaried employees, time is super flexible, my boss is amazing at understanding that we are all human. - Executives have consistent meetings where they address concerns and want to become 'the best place to work at in San Diego'. They are diligently working to make volunteer turnover decrease. - Did I mention they pay for ALL your benefits? Yeah, they don't take a single dollar from your check to pay your benefits, and they also give you ~$100 per month for your HSA. Oh! And they contribute to your 401K even if you don't. Boom.

    Cons

    - People complaning (I know a couple) were either terminated for incompetency after being here since the beginning of the company and not being able to adapt to the growth and change of the company going from 60 employees to 600. - The company grew SO QUICKLY it has a ton of growing pains, like any other organization, there's constant change, so I definitely don't recommend this company to someone who is used to doing the same thing over and over, and someone who isn't open to change, and consistent efforts to make your everyday more efficient. - Although Mr. Slattery is no longer on campus all the time, he is still very involved in creating the familiar feel of the company, and the executives are well aware of this.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up! It's been an adjustment period for everyone, but overall, the changes are for the good of the whole, and there's bound to be some outsiders that aren't flexible, or adaptable enough to grow with Millennium. Executives came in as little as a year ago, and with new blood, there's always old blood that doesn't like the change, those are the employees that (in my opinion) keep complaining that they are 'replaceable' Dude: Make yourself irreplaceable at your job by doing it well.

    Pros

    -Great people working along side you (co-workers) everyone is really nice and helpful -Pay is good if you have been working for over 2 years

    Cons

    -No more raises, just "bonus" IF company does well -Promotions within company is almost impossible -They try to hold you back from transfers and promotions

    Advice to Management

    They should care about the people they employ as well as the people using their services. Its all about making money for them.
