Great growth company with lots of opportunity

Senior Director (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsLots of opportunities to grow within organization. If you work hard, you are compensated and provided latitude to work on other projects. flexible hours. The culture is going through a significant, yet very positive, change and internal programs are being added to support employees to better themselves, not just be more productive at work. Big push on wellness and community involvement.

ConsSome disfunction within senior management related to communication across departments. Legacy employees fighting change.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep on the path towards expansion into other markets and continue to embrace change.

    Great internship program

Intern (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsGreat internship program, HR devoted to resources to organize a series of internship activities, including a final presentation to CEO.
Gym in the company, free yoga class.

Consthe company has many products, as an intern, I didn't really get a chance to know their products, a little disconnected.
Not many interns got job offer.

A great place to work warts and all, where you will get out what you are willing to put in.

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsThere are some really great people that work at Mitchell, preofessionally and personally. My team actually hangs out together outside of work. The right people do take notice when you are able to produce. If you are an 'A' player, management gives you the freedom to succeed.

ConsIt does seem like there are some less than competent people that hold fairly high positions or receive undeserved positive recognition. There are also times when projects go completely sideways before the right people will engage to right the ship. People tend to blur their responsibilities until projects either have too many people trying to run it or no one is running it.

Advice to Senior ManagementI actually believe that senior management does a good job of being open with the employees. I'm not sure how far up the chain things go, but it seems like when projects go sideways there is a missing check of accountability to ensure that people are being responsible for their part of the project and not doing the job of others.
