good company.. growing too fast to keep up.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCEO Zack Rinat makes a point to speak with the entire company and is someone you want to work hard for. Senior management is supportive. Willing to do what they can for their employees

ConsCompany is growing so fast and the G&A area isn't keeping up with the growth in the sales force.

Advice to Senior ManagementSometimes need to spend money to make money. Would recommend considering increasing budget for more G&A staff to keep up with growing sales force.

    Terrible culture

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Redwood Shores, CA

ProsGood to work there when you are specialized in Enterprise Software technologies such as Salesforce.com. It's apparently a great place to learn about the US healthcare system. It is an ok place for a beginneer engineer who wants to learn about the enterprise software and software consulting world.

ConsMost employees have a "can do" attitude but often lack perspective on how things can work in the rest of the industry - and hence usually have poor performance while being convinced of the opposite. I had the feeling that most employees - except the few "heroes" - were totally scared of middle and senior management - no one wanted to make decisions or feel accountable for anything.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Incredible and tumultuous ride but what a good experience!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsComplex product with outstanding customer relationship
    Great cash flow management

ConsThe down side of managing well your cash flow while growing is the endemic low level of resourcing

House of cards praying for sunshine

Senior Director (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsSmart and charismatic CEO (his execs though seem not to respect him behind his back).
Some good people (but not at senior levels
Professional employees for the most part.
    Friday lunches /calls at HDQ.

    ConsLousy senior management.
Highly political even at the relatively junior level/mid level.
Lousy products. Most have a DIY feel.
Work life balance is non-existent and mundane/lousy tasks in plenty. Very long hours each day and most week-ends with management not even showing appreciation (i.e. it is expected).
Sales: poor; (on the bright side this means customers are possibly too smart to get fooled.)
    Poor delivery.
State of flux. Recently a few senior level people (sr. Director and above) left the company despite having just been promoted.
Facade: pro-people but reality is way different.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop producing vaporware. Make real products.
Face the reality of your political environment, reward collegiality.
Get rid of current senior management.

    Good growth for go getters

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsPros:
    - No micromanagement
    - Quick growth in roles if you're willing to work hard
    - Smart people to work with. Generally, everyone is a pleasure to work with.
    - Good managers within GCS with people who really understand the product and the industry.
    - Catered lunches on Friday.
    - Opportunity to work across multiple teams.
    - Yoga available for those at HQ.
    - Ping pong tournaments.
    - Most people are interested in the betterment of the company and the products.
    - Interesting niche that opens the door to the Life Sciences industry.
    - Every project is different, so you are constantly learning.
    - Upbeat pace.
    - Willingness to create programs/plans to keep people happy.

    ConsCons:
    - Salary needs to be fought for.
    - Architecture of the product needs to be looked at and improved upon to improve product quality.
    - Not enough activities to build happy employees and team comradery.
    - Difficult to work with an offshore PD team in India. People based out of the stateside tends to sacrifice more time than India.
    - Benefits are okay. Coverage could be much better for a company in the tech sector of Silicon Valley.
    - No 401k matching.
    - Need to constantly fight for work life balance, otherwise management will just over work you.
    - Needs more technical innovation and investment into technical innovation.
    - Cheap on handing out shares to employees outside of upper management.

Advice to Senior Management- Listen to your employees within professional services. They are the ones that constantly interact with your customers.
    - Your employees at the end of the day need to be kept happy if you expect to see results. No one appreciates having to work long hours and yet never get recognized for it. Benefits, compensation, and a career path needs to be improved upon in order to retain and gain employees.
    - Improve on product quality. There seems to be a huge disconnect between the people building the product and the people actually delivering it.

Good company with a lack of foresight and execution model.

Senior Member of Technical Staff (Current Employee) Redwood City, CA

    ProsWork-life balance and the people

ConsOutdated technology, excessive off-shoring, middle management clueless on how to address product issues, buggy product affecting sales numbers, high attrition and low employee satisfaction ratings.

Room for Improvement for Boston Office

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsWork life balance with opportunity to work from home when neccesary
Fully stocked Kitchen and weekly catered lunch
Company outings - dinners, cookouts, annual clambake
Reimbursement for healthcare opt-out (great bonus if your spouse has coverage)
Quiet office - good for heads down working

ConsQuiet office - there is no buzz of creativity in the air
Meetings often scheduled on west coast time (during our lunch/dinner)
Aggressive release cycles often lead to poor quality
No visibility into company health - 6 months after celebrating an IPO, 25% of the company was sent to pack up their desks.
Inflated company goals ensure bonuses don't have to be paid out.
