    Pros

A decent group of coworkers that you can talk with about the miserable environment.

    Cons

3,000 emails a day. Nonstop unrealistic demands that you couldn't even attempt to accomplish because you have to be on to many demotivating conference calls. So over managed it's counterproductive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find something else to do to justify your job other than pound on the people that are actually doing productive work. Tracking your employees with electronic devices? Really? Creepy! There's not one person I know at Mohawk that's happy and they all have one foot out the door. You have been able to retain and torture people due to the bad economy and that's the only reason.

    Pros

They offer good benefits to the employees.

    Cons

People are promoted into different departments without knowledge of running these departments. it's not how hard you work it is who you are friends with in upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Major decisions are made with the bottom dollar in mind and not what needs to get done.

    Pros

NONE!..........Not unless you consider harassment and intimidation a good thing!

    Cons

The only way you will get treated right is if you kiss-up to whomever your manager, and tell tales about your fellow employees.

Career growth only comes if you leave the company, or know people that are very high up in the company that would move you up themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your HR staff are EXTREMELY LAZY, and not doing anything to foster the growth of talent within the company.

I left the company because the LAZY HR staff refused to talk to me about other possible opportunities within the company even though I made it known to several of them. I went somewhere else and DOUBLED my salary in a higher role.

    Pros

Great pay. Will always have something too do regardless of what shift you may be working on .

    Cons

Very , very biased and racist plant toward African Americans . Out of the possible 1200 hundred employees, I would say maybe less than 50 are Black. Maybe 1 African American is in a management position. I was told I would never be in management at that plant.

    Pros

Descent pay... however not for what you have to put up with

    Cons

They treat their employees like they are in grammar school... Constant threats of punishment or dismissal. Moral is terrible. I left a while back because of this constant badgering. I just wanted to come in a do a good job...and I did a good job! It was never ever enough. One time they would tell you how great you did...and the next is that you did not answer the phone correctly or you did not end the call correctly. There is also so much office politics it is un-real... If they do not come together, the house will fall.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the threats. People are more willing to do a good job with positive attitudes. Value your employees instead of constantly bringing them down.

    Pros

You get to look for a new job if you are over 50.

    Cons

Mohawk will destroy your life if you believe you can work til retirement. It appears from the last round of layoffs that old people are the first to go. Salaried personnel jobs are expendable without cause, except to make room for young college kids who work for peanuts and non existent health benefits. If you make it into your 50s you better start looking for another job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice? They already know how to pile up cash, isn't that all that matters?

    Most unprofessional HR Staff ever

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee  in  Dalton, GA
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Dalton, GA

    Pros

After 2 years with the company, I can't find any. I know quite a few people ACTIVELY looking for other jobs, including myself.

    Cons

The HR staff are the most unprofessional I've ever come across, they don't bother to return calls or emails when you are trying to find out information from them. When they know the information you are looking for is not their responsibility, they are quick to give you someone else's name in HR, who of course would never get back to you. They talk about retention but when you approach them about looking into other areas within the company, they don't want to talk to you. They would rather hire from outside than give internal candidates a chance to interview for internal job postings!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is 2013, you should allow your employees the flexibility of working from home especially when you gave them laptops! You expect your employees to do their best and keep up with current trends when you refuse to invest in their education and getting necessary certifications? You need to start paying attention to your HR staff, they are a major reason why you keep losing good employees, mandate them to at least talk to internal candidates who apply for jobs instead of just ignoring their application.

    Pros

    Ok pay for the area

    Cons

Took the job last year because the benifits was good . Left a good paying job cause the insurance got to expensive . Doing my interview hr showed me the benifit package. Way cheaper than other job . So I could afford to take a cut in pay . Now 5 months down the road they give us the worst insurance I have ever seen . I have a family that needed good benefits as my husband and sons medication is over 3000 month without a prescription card . Now this insurance wont cover my families heath issues. How can a company live with themselves for doing this to there employees . Shame on mohawk . Im am job searching now in order to provide good insurance for them . We are a middle class family trying to get by . Unable to receive goverment help . Thanks for ruining my life m

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at the inpact you are putting your employees through ,do to being cheap . Keep hiring the non citizens and watch your company fall . Which I prey it does . How can upper management sleep at night ??? I know I cant cause iam wonder month to month how to pay for my families medication and calling the doctors to cancell appointment because who can meet a 3200 deductible . May god have mercy on you.
