    Pros

Molina has decent salary and benefits. The owners (Molina Family) are good people. Great company if the current management in IT changes.

    Cons

The IT department is very toxic. Mostly non-us citizens, just about everything is outsourced. The top Sr. management is Indian and big believer in sending all jobs to India. Most US citizens have been slowly demoted or laid off. There is a lot of waste of resources and buddy system protects many corrupt mid level managers who were implanted by the new Indian management. Stay away from IT - no matter what.

    Advice to Management

The owners of the company are good people but they need to get more involved or they will loose complete oversight of the IT department. Get the top IT management who believes in their culture and values. It is important to clean up corruption and incompetent culture that has currently taken hold of this department or the cancer will spread.

    Pros

Salaries and benefits are good and are meets expectations of industry standards.

    Cons

This review is based upon 4 years of working in this company (IT dept). This review is being discussed and approved by 5+ current employees. Not a place for people who enjoys coding/programming/application development/algorithmic approach of solutions/ learning IT systems. Not a place for people who are educated Masters or above. Consider to join this company only if you have no other jobs/options. Senior management is very disrespectful to programmers/developers. Middle level managers do not have IT experience. Promotions and credits are given based on buddy system and not based on performance. Employees are highly depressed and HR department is blind eye on resolving issues. Professional behavior is absent in middle level management and employees are being ordered to do their jobs instead via proper discussion and resolution. Whistle blowers are humiliated in front of team members and in team meetings.

    Advice to Management

For CEO, IT dept is a black box. We dont expect him to know internal details of IT dept in a health care company, but FYI.. IT work culture is very bad, buddy system is being implemented to promote, hikes. Performance has zero impact on growth/career of employee. We would advise CIO to see if IT application development middle level management has IT experience? If not, why are they managing IT processes? to change the buddy system and show growth to employees based on performance.

    Pros

Close to home, flex start and quit time

    Cons

Managment does not foster a good work environment an does not allow employees to assist others. I was a new hire and my team members were forbidden to assist me.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees and get more involved in the areas they manage. Most managers do not have a clue of the day to day operations. More concerced with Quanity than Quality. Most managers at Molina Healthcare don't have a clue what the meaning of Leadership is.

Spending has gone up 3 fold in IT as someone else mentioned Lack of accountability from Corporate Lack of direction from top layer in IT, due to lack of business knowledge

    Advice to Management

Senior Management really need to train your immedite layer in IT about how to respect people and thier contribution.

    Cons

Very Strict about Office Timings. They force to work on Late Evenings and Week Ends. They Stand Behind you to get the Join done. No Standard in Resource and Project Management. They Simply Change the Design and Work on it Late Evenings and Week Ends.

    Advice to Management

Have Better People at IT. Too many leads.

    Cons

Management is a nightmare! I don't know how companies like these exist. I'm unfortunately still working here but it's so incredibly bad that it's literally been affecting my health and well-being. Management and HR do not care about you at all. And it doesn't matter if you're in a lower level position or higher. I'm in a higher level position and I get treated so poorly. I like my coworkers, they're great. There are some great people here, they're just not in management. It's like all management people got together and recruited people they thought would be subservient so as to make themselves look smarter. They're all blithering idiots. Do not work here!! Like others have said, if you any self-respect, run! This place is NOT merit based, it's all politics and ass-kissing.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves, you blithering idiots!

    Pros

Some good people, but they leave because they get tired of all the backstabbing, or they are let go, in favor of kissups who play politics better than they do their real job.

    Cons

High turnover, good people leave because of the work environment, musical chairs among C-level management and directors., weak HR department.

    Advice to Management

Back up your loyal employees instead of throwing them under the bus.

    Pros

Decent pay, some good people that are in it to make a positive impact.

    Cons

This is one of the worst places I have ever worked. They do not follow to culture of the organization to any degree however claim to care about the employees. The daily activities consist of people throwing whoever they can under the bus to cover themselves because they have no idea what they are doing. Leadership doesn’t pay attention to staff and have no idea what is really going on and have little to no professionalism to speak of. It’s a hectic, high stress, toxic environment for all the wrong reasons.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what is really happening within the company instead of taking the word of the same corrupt individuals bleeding it dry.

    Pros

Good salary Some nice people As a contractor you received good money, yet I believe that some of the staff was unhappy about their salary. Te company promotes a, lets throw more people at the job, to do the job better, instead of let's hire the right people for the job. Outside offshore contractors are being hired, rather then Americans. Which is fine except that Molina's motto is a family business?! They seem to make money out of this philosophy, thanks to the Obama bill. I just think that all the money the company have wasted, could've been used for something better. I will not work for this company again! Very unorganized, changing direction all the time, with management that can't make a decision.

    Cons

Bad management Long hours Favoritism Unorganized Bad work, life balance

    Advice to Management

Make a decision, and stand by it. Lead your people, don't manage them. Hire the right people for the job.
