A large group of talented professionals to work along side.
The technology of the product is cutting edge
A company that you can have a career at

Consvery political work environment, very much a good ole boys club
    Not agile in the least
Senior leadership is stuck in their rut, resistant to change.

Advice to Senior ManagementEnable the process to become agile.
Remove many of your long standing senior leadership and the friends they have brought along. Base survival on performance.

    Help Desk Worker

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsEasy to excel and get new job titles. Good wage increase annually. Very progressive workplace for the most part. Very relaxed environment with the exception of the work. Not a hard place to get a job either. Was an easy place to get on with and work 2nd shift while I earned a degree in the day.

ConsSome management incompetent. Company is going down hill financially. Wouldn't recommend getting on at this time.

Management team always has your back

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Weston, MA

ProsGreat Training Programs, Management team always has your back

ConsHR Benefits are sparse and over priced. Out of the last 9 years, raises were only given out three times and its been over four years since a bonus was seen.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within, seems that a lot of people here start in a positon and stay in the same position.

Presents well on first look, struggles to uphold the promises

Manager Release Engineering (Former Employee) Maynard, MA

ProsRelaxed environment, tries to provide a casual, constructive atmosphere. There are some really good folks that try to do the right thing.

ConsThe company retains a vast majority of original long term contributors. While experience is quite useful for the newcomers. This presents a challenge to those trying to take things to the next level. Adoption to change is difficult for folks that were and are responsible for the start of Monster

Smart, hard working team based individuals

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsPeople worked well together across departments. Everyone is always willing to lend a hand to help another. Very smart and hardworking group. Loved my manager which is rare to find. - Supportive and knowledgeable without micro-managing.

ConsExec team was directionless and spinning in a fast growing and changing industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of most exec team and bring in some new forward thinking visionaries.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great Pay, great stress if you're in sales

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIndustry leading pay. Work from home. Brand recognition. Perks - Laptop, iPhone, company credit card, mobile hot spot, free swag, generous milage reimbursement

ConsIf you're in sales, quota can be very difficult to make, most don't make it. Large product offering however hard to sell anything other than Search/Post. 90% of companies have used Monster at some point making it a hard sell. Constantly berated on your pipeline. Prospective customers are often false leads. Don't get quarterly quota until half way into quarter. Slim chance of becoming a manager if you start in sales. Would take many many years. Mainly hire external. Not growing, all hires are backfills.

Great training and great people...just a fair amount of politics.

Director of Sales (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsGreat training provided by leadership to make sure that we were successful in managing and selling. Good work environment and enjoyed most of the people.

ConsFairly political organization with an aging product mix that was limited and not very progressive in keeping with the new technology or offerings.

It was a decent place to work but lacks effective leadership

Internet Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsGood salary to start off with and good sales reps working around you. Most of your peers will help if you ask them to.

ConsThe management is not personable and doesn't really care about their employees and actually helping them to succeed. They are strictly focused on hitting some unrealistic sales goals and hesitant to actually get on the phone and help the sales staff achieve those goals.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on how you can help employees succeed instead of finding someone to blame for not achieving their sales goals.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
