    Pros

The leadership on the advertising sales (no input on recruitment) side motivates the team and has developed a great culture.

Military.com has a strong brand and focus. As a whole the company has great potential.

    Cons

The Monster brand is diminishing to LinkedIn and others.

    Advice to Management

    Grow with LinkedIn.

    Pros

Good pay, good people. Easy to meet up with people and they were willing to talk with me.

    Cons

No contact after internship program after being told they would reach out for full time offers. Not much of a positive work culture- very quiet, not a lot of interaction between teams

    Pros

There is a ton of earning opportunity at Monster on the sales team. The senior management team fosters relationships with top performers and grooms them for senior sales opportunities. They offer a solid training program and really believe in their products.

    Cons

The corporate culture at Monster is no corporate culture. If you're looking for an amazingly fun place to work, look elsewhere.

    Pros

If you are willing to devote your work life to Monster, you will invariably be rewarded with new opportunities.

    Cons

Slow to react to changing market conditions (although this seems to have changed lately).

    Advice to Management

Observe what is going on in the online recruitment space - it's as if everyone else at the company knew about social recruiting and the threat LinkedIn would pose.

    Pros

Strong recognizable brand name— adding Monster to your resume may help open some doors for you as it did for me. Opportunity to work on projects with international reach. Personally, I had a excellent direct manager who believed in investing in the growth of his team, offering some training on the job. Good work-life balance. Nice scenic and convenient location in the Cambridge / Kendall branch.

    Cons

Product managers seemed somewhat clueless at times. Semi-aloof culture — not a particularly warm company toward contractors. You may find pockets of friendly people even if they aren't in your own department.

    Pros

Good, sharp people who are very willing to collaborate.

    Cons

Challenging to work from a satellite office vs the mothership in Massachusetts.

    Pros

There were some really good people, especially on the product team, doing some cool things. People were working hard, but generally because they wanted to.

    Cons

The company has been struggling to keep up in a changing world. It still has its DNA from the '90s, so it's hard to be a "cool internet" company like it wants to be.

    Advice to Management

Internet products sell themselves. Superbowl ads and booths at the SXSW tradeshow don't. You need to double down on cool, innovative technology that helps employers and workers connect.

    Pros

Great pay for the level of skill and experience necessary to work there. Excellent fringe benefits. Laid back environment yet professional performance is expected.

    Cons

Call center environment can become boring and unchallenging. Many things are learned as you go. Basically thrown in the mix. There's a good training program it's just not enough to learn everything that needs to be learned.

    Advice to Management

Training should cover more day to day requirements and less about sales strategy.
