I have been working at Monster Worldwide (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent coworkers, cutting edge technology, ability to work with as much or as little supervision as you want in the field

    Cons

High sales quotas, leadership doesn't do a great job of messaging the strength of the technology, and they often put themselves before their employees, kind of a "when you get to our level you can have great perks like this too"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sacrifice more. Give people under you perks that you DON'T get. Don't just listen to people who tell you what you want to hear.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Bright People, Good Pay, Great Support Team To Help Get the job done. Great Contest For Sales People, Good Commission Structure

    Cons

It is Very stressful. It is very difficult to have a personal life. Otherwise Monster is a great place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Managers don't work well together. Many times sales reps are left to resolve channel conflict with Media Partners. This dysfunctional set-up makes the job stressful and unproductive.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide

    Pros

most of the people who work at Monster are great. the products and solutions we have to sell to our customers are great and very dependable too.

    Cons

lack of direction. sometimes seems like a very disorganized organization. lack of internal resources makes it hard to compete.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

senior leadership may want to spend more time in front of customers to stay connected to how people feel about ours solutions and overall service offerings and what they are interested in. compeition seems to do a better job so staying more connected to both customers and employees.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - global environment and mentality
    - leadership training
    - challenging work
    - encourage creativity and new ideas
    - uses the best and current technology
    - strong brand awareness and loyalty among employees
    - fair salary increases, including several unexpected bonuses ($5k)
    - creative atmosphere
-"white noise" above work spaces provide employees privacy and keeps the general noise level down so you can work without a lot of distraction
    - fun perks like fooseball, pingpong, free beverages and snacks
    - encourages civil responsibility

    Cons

    - some of the departments don't "play well" with others
    - management sometimes makes unreasonable requests at the 11th hour
    - salaried employees often work 50-60 hour weeks, some eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at their desks
    - deadline-driven environment requires "all hands on deck"
    - benefits could be better, more time off, better medical plan options and vacation time
    - not a strong sense of job security - layoffs happen in large batches and without forewarning
    - constant restructuring on both company-wide and department-wide levels
    - in departments with many people doing the same job, new employees brought in sometimes causes resentment, because the new employees come in with a better salary/benefit package than existing employees in the same role and with the same qualifications

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Provide more feedback on a day-to-day basis.
    - Let employees know that they and their work are valued.
    - Help employees feel more job security.
    - Give employees some notice if they are being sourced to another department or position, versus finding out in a large meeting or moments before a large meeting.
    - Provide better benefit packages.
    - Provide better opportunities to be promoted from within.
    - Help employees achieve a better work-life balance.

    Pros

The people on the front lines are amazing. I met some of my greatest friends there.
    Good benefits.
    Competitive salary.

    Cons

Senior management has lost focus - more concerened with tracking metrics then actual selling.
Advancement in Maynard office is awful. Many times outside people are brought in over viable inside candidates.
Top talent are in an exodus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to being a sales and marketing company.
Create a culture within the company besides the fear culture.
