    I worked at Monster Worldwide

    Pros

Overall great people on the floor that truly believed in doing the right thing. An overall desire to collaborate on big picture strategy was very strong (though sometimes handicapped by legacy problems).

    Cons

Challenges with a very complex industry, outdated platforms and product offerings, and a strategy that needs deep thought to provide room for innovation. The problems were known and being confronted slowly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Executives need to better understand the products, the needs of customers and invest in great teams to let innovation happen both on the roadmap and in bluesky fashion. There were not nearly enough team members on the floor to neither keep up nor push forward in a direction that will move the needle.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Data driven, solid technology, good selling points and strong brand. Monster has been an industry leader for many years. The Power Resume Search tool is out of this world, as is the SeeMore tool. These tools could be industry game-changers. A fantastic organization that is going through unnecessarily turbulent times when the market is bouncing back.

    Cons

Top-tier management doesn't know how to manage in turbulent times. Monster is undervalued as an organization. Their stock price does not reflect the solidity of their products and services. Sal is a big part of the problem and he needs to be replaced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to let the top tier management go and start fresh with new leadership that understands the changing landscape of online recruitment. Sal has had his opportunity and unfortunately has dropped the ball. Make sure your CEO is visible to the company. Sal has been silent for the past 9 months. No one knows what is going on. You need to communicate with your people from time to time and let them know what is going on!!!!!!!!

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great pay (both salary and commission).
Fun Culture - depending on your sales manager

    Cons

Management thinks Monster is still #1. People arent using Monster like they used to and people are not as impressed with the name brand anymore. The name doesnt sell itself anymore. Its a dying industry. They are behind the 8-ball.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People over profits and you would be surprised how performance can take off.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great compensation, flexibility and opportunity to exposure

    Cons

No transparity with senior management. "We - they" enviornment. Not a lot of room for advancement. Products are not keeping up with the competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not a lot of respect for Senior Management right now. No clear strategic path. Management needs to listen employees.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Opportunities to perform a variety of tasks and projects; great people to work with; great product, even in the competitive and challenging online HR space;

    Cons

Large, established company trying to figure out how to become young and nimble again makes for a very painful leadership environment; too much 'old school' thought still holding sway at the top (and sometimes in the middle echelons as well)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be willing to leave the past behind even if you think it will cost you customers

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This place has been great overall. I was able to excel year over year and move into positions that generated more income for me.

    Cons

Management has taken a turn for the worse. Moral is down and so is the stock. It appears the ceiling may have been reached.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen more to your sales staff. We are the ones that shape the company. Are feedback should be taken into consideration to have a more well-oiled machine working for you.
