Current Employee - Sales in Glasgow, Scotland (UK)

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

the company offers great employee benefits. Managers offer good support but could be helped more by the business. Pay is good and it is a friendly and fun environment

    Cons

direction has been lacking from senior management for a number of years. there is a lot of red tape which gets in the way of doing the right thing. got to say some of the comments from ex employees are a nonsense. i have never experienced any drug taking in the Glasgow office, laughable comment. Nothing about sexual favours either. Obviously a disgruntled former employee who has been sacked.

    I worked at Monster Worldwide

    Pros

The team and management in Singapore are like a big family. Fun and open environment, zero office politics...great team to be part of!

Product is top notch for a number of industries.

    Cons

Lack of good alignment on MK initiatives from regional office. Lack of long term approach to planning as well as internal organisation (Field Sales/Telesales) so the results sometimes are short lived.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a MK person to sit in Singapore. Allocate more budget on local MK initiatives to drive candidates in the remaining industries, so Monster can be number 1 across most industries.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The work provided enough challenges and opportunities to learn. The environment of on-line recruitment is an interesting one in which a lot is happening

    Cons

Uncertain financial state of the company, many rounds of lay-offs, which influenced morale. although I was lucky with the senior and skilled manager of my team, .the general management of the SCC did little to support the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider if such a junior management is ready to lead such a large SSC in uncertain financial time. Make HR policy more than hiring, firing and executing formalities.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Monster is a very busy work from home environment which made working alone not so lonely. The working environment allows employees to be as creative as possible and take on different challenges every day. The people who work there are kind, welcoming, smart and friendly. They all have similar goals and passions, which makes working as team easy.

    Cons

High turn over and down sizing has led to difficulties in account knowledge transfer and process training. Internal systems are difficult and hard to navigate. Very complex process structure.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Monster is a huge organization which has a lot of opportunities available within itself for growth. there are definite progression plans and does not distinguish employees on the basis of the location or the work they do. There are enough opportunities to enjoy your work and also enjoy after work. Work Hard Party Hard!

    Cons

Work pressure and limitation of activity within a role creates quite a frustration. With too many people forced into smaller regions opportunity to explore wider market is very much reduced leading to internal competitions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Monster has grown strong and is growing wider. But please do not make dramatic announcements which can hurt the business.
