The training program can be better, leadership needs some work and it is difficult to become promoted.

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing benefits, amazing career potential, a passion for diversity and inclusion. One can truly climb at Morgan Stanley- opportunities abound from branch level all the way up!

    Cons

It's an intense culture and a firm spinning with massive amounts of change. It's a lot of type A personalities and puffery. Depending on the team- it can be very absent of feeling or heart. Don't stay long- pay does not keep up with inflation. Despite stunning performance reviews year after year, hardly any significant raises were ever seen. Only the top make the big bucks!

I worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I had a great experience with the team of financial advisors I was assigned to. They were all extremely nice and welcoming, as well as supportive and open to discussing anything that I asked.

    Cons

The financial advisors did not give me that much work to do, so I got bored a good amount of the time. The most important thing that I was assigned to do was to monitor the different mutual funds that pitched their financial products during lunch time.
