A former start-up glory struggling to reinvent itself

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNice friendly work atmosphere, especially in the smaller offices. Good autonomy in one's daily work.
Interesting domain, rather rich product and very competitive position on the market.
    Fairly satisfactory compensation packages.

ConsEver growing bureaucracy. Terrible career management for high performers beyond 7 years.
Limited compensation upside given the company size and increasing pressure on margins in the trading software industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake the required painful decisions and enforce them.
From time to time, look outside the inner circle of 20 or so people you trust.

Medium sized company with liberal work culture

Quantitative Analyst (Current Employee) Singapore (South Africa)

    ProsHas a liberal work culture
It has a strong brand name in the market
It is a leader in its industry

ConsGrowth has been slowing these days
    Bonuses are shrinking fast
    It is somewhat unstructured
It has its own way of doing things which is quite a disconnect with the rest of the world; and honestly its ways are inferior to the best practices

Advice to Senior ManagementSell Murex soon, you are not going to sustain the leadership in the long run.
