Former software developer, 2 years of very good work experience.

Senior Software Developer (Former Employee) Beverly Hills, CA

ProsStrong software development team; very interesting projects; cool environment; open minded people who shared knowledge and experience. Transparent management who had excellent communication with all employees. Very good product managers and middle level management.

ConsBad management decisions at the very top level. Lack of any vision or strategy to make the company successful, which eventually led to massive layoffs and MySpace's decline.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop rewriting the webiste every time management changes, find a way to capitalize the existing product with minor changes.

    Great place for interns

Intern (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsThe environment is very laidback. The people in general are very nice and as an Intern I was allowed to sit in a lot of meetings. Interns also have an opportunity for real work experience rather than making copies, answering phones etc. There is a cafe now on the third floor which makes getting lunch convenient. The patio on the 3rd floor has an amazing view of Los Angeles.

ConsInterns are unpaid and there are cliques in the workplace.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to be more innovative.

Strong tech base and good people

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Beverly Hills, CA

ProsWe're still developing against the latest tech and the people here can work great as a team when the right project comes along.

ConsStrategy is still undefined and the culture has taken a major hit over the past few years.

Advice to Senior ManagementNew executive management should take advice from the current employees before announcing organization and strategy changes.

could have been a great company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

Prosfantastic people, especially those just below top execs. fascinating industry, in the center of american pop culture. great energy and opportunities to wear many hats and gain experience in many different areas.

Conspoor internal communications, always having to justify/defend the negative aspects of the site and the company's strategic choices to partners, lack of clear/defined strategy on the part of execs leaves you often guessing or waiting for feedback/approval

Advice to Senior Managementi left just before new management arrived so i can't really speak for the current state of things, but as far as i can tell the restructuring/focusing that owen's doing now should have been done long, long ago.

    Interview Process

Flex Lead Developer (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsVery happening and cool atmosphere to work , You will learn a lot from veteran Coders, they are bugs of internet and know lots about we securities

ConsIts going down because of their business model, too much of ad is kiilling the site also they need to reinvent someof this things

Advice to Senior Managementremove the useless ads, Myspace music is gr8... rebrand every thing and release all at same time , not one by one
