I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Myriad provides opportunities for growth based on performance. It is great to know that everyday we help people make critical decisions about their own health care.

    Cons

Pay tends to be at the low end of the curve for all positions and they are slow to catch up. Resources sometimes seem to be insufficient which leads to high workload for a few.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time

    Pros

It's very fulfilling to be of service to patients going through newly diagnosed cancers and providing answers to their questions.

    Cons

The management has changed and is making MANY people unhappy. No matter what you do, you're doing it wrong.
If you don't fit in with management, you don't fit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Relax!

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits, good products and ability to make great commissions.

    Cons

It appears to be a lot of favoritism. Not always based on how well you do but rather who you know to advance. Some people are penalized even if they are achieving sales growth while others who are not achieving sales growth are rewarded. This is a sales company and the more you sell should be the focus!!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees and don't lose site of the big picture.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The people there are nice and fun to work with. There is lots of room for growth. They are hands on with training and try to make sure you know as much as you possibly can before they put you on the computers. Benefits are great. Stalk options.

    Cons

They are stingy with raises. There are metrics for raises and the raises aren't that great, and they are only every quarter. You have to be in a position for 9 months before you can move to a new position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't micro manage. Not many of them do. Try to help your team, or someone on your team grow to a manager if that's what the eventually want to do.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Surrounded by well established, and highly educated professionals. Great coworkers, decent benefits, and decent pay considering job responsibilities.

    Cons

Very difficult to move up career ladder. Management plays "favorites" and depending on which department you begin in can "make or break" you in your desire for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More opportunities to move across departments or upward mobility. Treating all employees equally.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Small diagnostic company with big ideas. Opportunities available to move within the company if you work hard and navigate the players.

    Cons

Corporate headquarters based on Salt Lake City, UT and many upper level positions require relocation to corporate headquarters. Lower salaries than your larger pharmaceutical or biotech companies, but different culture that makes up for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to grow and develop, but remember to recognize the value of employees as you grow.
