    Pros

You do get to meet a lot of important people in the industry.

    Cons

You don't get enough time to speak with them to actually build a relationships. The tasks given to you are mundane and there's no room for promotion.

I have been working at NBCUniversal as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

the fame and brand of NBC. your resume will look good with NBC on it. competitive pay rate for old union jobs.

    Cons

I don't even know where to begin.
can'te been with the company for 7 years now.
I'm now a daily hire and for some pepole that might be a new term that you never heard before. NBC is a huge company and over the years they just want to go cheaper and cheaper in terms of salary and in everyway.
there are so many departments so I can't speak for all those departments but many are corrupted, meaning managers are useless and they just keep creating meaningless and useless higher management positions when they cut down on actual working class.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most employee thinks managements are useless. please do something that works and stop playing the game of throne.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I love my co-workers, whether they are on my team or other teams within the overarching NBC organization, they are all great people.
You will be challenged on a daily basis

    Cons

Management is terrible, micro-manage, condescending and no respect for their team members
Very political in nature, if you don't know how to play the game, you will go no where in this organization-work ethic and value of your work will not matter
Pay is less than desirable and time off is limited-10 days
Communication between departments is awful and at times non existent which makes it harder to get things done

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should take the time to value your employees and the hard work they do to make you look good. You should not compare your employees and their respective workloads to one another in meetings or one on one-its not professional to do ever. You should consider talking to your employees like equals as opposed to people who are beneath you. You will have a happier team and retain your employees that much longer if you do!

Newsdirector Jonathan is a very poor manager, brings nepotism and dirty politics into the work culture.

Diversity and Inclusion ethics need to be enforced within the Marketing and Sales division.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The Diversity and Inclusion events are very informative. They provide useful tools on how to cope and be successful in our work environment.

I LOVE our parks and frequent them during my lunch breaks. This is a great stress reliever and helps to regain full focus.

    Cons

There is no Personal Development Plan (PDP) in place for ALL employees, selective PDP's are offered according to preference.

You are railroaded into quitting your job due to extreme stress and discouragement as you're submitted to severe Psychological Warfare.

There exist clicks and favorite "BFF'S" within the department whom flaunt their alliance as they shamelessly create unnecessary conflict for whomever the current target is.

The office culture leaves little room for anyone who's different when it pertains to religious beliefs, costumes and race. African Americans, Indian's, Latinos, etc are a very few.

Some of the "Leader's" need a refreshers course on what responsibilities come with said Leadership while recognizing that Diversity and Inclusion is not an option, it's a necessity for great success!

When a Boss does not support/like their subordinate due to interpersonal causes, it's impossible to move into another department due to the direct negative feedback given to the prospective new departments leadership. That's not only unfair, it's unethical.

I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern

    Pros

Great hardworking team. I got to attend a lot of seminars and help with different groups that I was interested in. It was really great to get hands on experience.

    Cons

Everything was a little limited in the department you were assigned to. I was an intern so I got to help out other groups, but as a full time employee, you work in the same place doing the same thing every day

    Pros

Sr Management willing to spend money when the ideas fit their view of the world.

    Cons

Current Comcast management expects obedience without independent thought. NBC at least attempted to look to the future when owned by GE while Comcast is relying on its monopoly power to generate income.
