    Pros

Pay was acceptable and plenty of opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Upper management only cares about their favorites and will never have your back. Supervisors and managers tend to fire at will.

Doesn't exactly follow what was offered by the HR department.

I have been working at NCO Financial full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay and benefits are ok for someone doing basic phone work. If the department heads like you, they will let you get away with practical murder.

    Cons

Not as flexible as advertised with regard to most college students. The HR department gave one schedule that worked well with my class days and hours. When it came time to the actual position, that was not the exact case. When it came time to move departments due to an end of year consilidating departments, they would not listen to my request to go to a department that offered part time hours. Needless to say because of that, I left the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees request, and put them somewhere they may choose to be at. Also, screen employees a little bit better before hiring them...

    Pros

There really aren't any pro's besides that if you're a good worker, you aren't micro-managed as much. As long as you show up on time and don't call off often and put forth a little effort, there is job security.

    Cons

Rampant favoritism, discrimination and harassment is swept under the rug, staff is treated like children, short lunch, management rewards good workers with extra work for no additional pay, no where to move up within the company, management makes it clear that you're expendable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees the option of an hour lunch or allow employees to finish meals at their desk. It's not fair to expect employees to choke down their lunch in less than 30 minutes. Start doing yearly evaluations and give raises accordingly.

    Pros

It teaches you to deal with challenges daily in a positive way, and never run from a problem even if it's extremely difficult.

    Cons

Always dealing with customers that has a different problem. When you try and give the customer advice that's in their best interest they don't want to listen to you, and keep doing the same thing over and over again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You should appreciate your employees.

    Pros

Some nice people to work with and flexable hours for employees who have gained seniority.

    Cons

Low wages are the norm and raises have not been given for over five years. The employee turn around rate is stagering. The pace that is set is very hard to maintain and their standards and expectations are quite high for the amount of pay they offer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show appreciation to the employees even if its just verbally.

I worked at NCO Financial full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There have been an enormous amount of lay-offs and that’s not going to end anytime soon as far as I can see. The company officers don’t know which direction to take the company. Instead of focusing on fixing the issues, they eliminate entire pieces sectors of the business. In many departments there is lot flexibility when you have a family, which is really nice. Some department managers haven’t got a clue how to manage the department, they are hands off. That can be nice, but when they start feeling pressure they start trying to manage and it is a mess, like trying to review a project when it’s it has just begun before all of the components are in place. Other managers are micro managers and very unappreciative. The company wants to focus on new business, but you can’t build the reputation for that if you don’t take care of the business that you have. If you lay off all of the people that manage a client’s project when they were, they’re not going to be happy now.

    Cons

Poor training, poor management, horrible benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish training and written policies and communicate to all. If you don't know how to do your employee's job, learn it. Work on streamlining processes to make current clients happy. If you go after new business, the companies reputation will be known. Hire from within.
