I have been working at NCS as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    -A lots of learning opportunities
    -New technologies
    -Colleagues are friendly

    Cons

    - No work life balance
    - Long working hour
    - Over promised to the client which lead to over work for staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to have a better system to track staffs time off. As for now we do not have system to track, and most of the time we don't get same hours of time off that we accumulated from out OT.

I have been working at NCS as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Training opportunities
    - Exposure to many/different projects
    - New Technologies

    Cons

    - Minimal benefits
    - Tight/multiple deadlines
    - No Work life Balance
    - Uptight working culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Its not about KPIs/growth and profits. Clocking of work hours has lost its meaning in view of project management constrains in sizing vs costs. Most workers work beyond the stipulated hours but unable to "clock" the extra hours put in. Not a true reflection of hours spend in the project.

    Pros

Big projects, lot of things to learn

    Cons

    Low salary
Very bad IT department, they gave me a laptop with 2GB RAM and it is super slow. That has a major impact on my working performance. I have reported to manager and after 6 months they provided me another 2GB

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Developer should have better laptop/PC comparing to other people !

I have been working at NCS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good working environment with lots of projects to learn new technologies.
Can have non-stop projects flowing in at times.

    Cons

Lower industry basic salary with very restricted HR policies on salary review.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take into account of the role and contributions of that individual and adjust their salary to match market rate to have higher employee retention rate. Good staffs who are considering to leave will then consider thrice.

    Pros

Colleagues are very nice and helpful. Lower level management will listen and help. Collaborative work environment.

    Cons

Advancement seems to be achieved through years of service rather than accomplishments at the lower levels. Learning has to be self-taught. No time to go for courses/certification.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve career growth for high performers to keep talent.
