Was once a company that was VERY focused on engaging its employees and customers via all levels of leadership.

    Pros

Pockets of Individuals create a small ecosystem that drive one to keep fighting for a future with this company
Agile solutioning to the needs of our customers

    Cons

    Lack of feedback and direction.
Too tactical. Lack of strategic vision - if there is a strategic vision, it is completely unknown beyond a select few individuals

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    ENGAGE internally and externally.
Use our substantial qualifications to bid many small to midsize opportunities instead of "betting the farm" on a handful of large/highly competitive bids against much larger players
Consolidate overhead with parent company for functions that do not directly impact the ability to drive revenue

    Neutral Outlook
  2.

Not the worst company to work for, but there is definite room for improvement.

    Pros

They have some really talented people that work for them and they seem to pay very well.

    Cons

A very young company that has a lot to learn about HR and processes. There is very minimal opportunities for growth within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop cutting benefits, invest in your employees, and reward the employees that deserve it.

    Pros

People are very welcoming and helpful.

    Cons

Constant fear of being "reduced" and leadership that lives in an Ivory Tower

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership ineeds to engage and actually show up at the office more than one a month - if leaders don't care then why should anyone else?

I have been working at NJVC as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Paycheck is nice. Everything else is just details.

    Cons

Typical Government bureaucracy, same as the rest I suppose. Prime contract is on its last leg, interested to see if the pot of gold will be spilled to the rest of the defense contracting vulchers at some point.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit so I can get a bonus instead.

    Pros

Decent compensation, straightforward support work. Middle management varies a lot. Less pressure on overhead than similar firms. If you want to do Enterprise Operations support, this is a good place to be.

    Cons

Minimal opportunities for growth. Few or no apparent leadership or business examples. Management (middle and upper) is disinterested. If you want to do something other than Enterprise Operations support, or expect job growth opportunities, you'll be disappointed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's getting very late to develop new business

I have been working at NJVC full-time

    Pros

They have some good people to work for and the pay is alright.

    Cons

They're on a downhill slope. When I started they had profit sharing, 401k matched 5%, good vacation, training dollars, good healthcare and bonuses. Now the profit sharing is gone, 401k is down to 4.5%, vacation time was cut, training dollars are non existent, healthcare sucks (affordable care had a hand) and forget about bonuses.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There were some awesome people at the company that were passionate about their projects and made work challenging (in a good way) and enjoyable. Although I worked in HR, I was still able to learn a lot from the different departments and broaden my knowledge base.

    Cons

There were some in management that were too self-involved and elitist to recognize talent outside of their own social circle and have done much to contribute to low morale. Definitely a good ol' boys club. The only thing missing are the mint juleps. The HR Department probably needs its own HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People don't leave good companies; they leave bad management. There is a lot of talent just waiting to be recognized, appreciated, and properly utilized.
