    Pros

    -Smart people
    -Great pay
-Quick advancement with the right manager and ambition
    -Great benefits

    Cons

    -Long hours
    -Excessive politics
    -Heavily silo'd organization
-Some really smart people go underutilized

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Kill the politics. Knock down the silos. You have (or had before ICE buyout anyway) some really brilliant people that could do amazing things without the politics getting in the way. Multiple times I saw teams fighting to own a process to get budget, or multiple teams building out the same tool or reinventing the wheel when it wasn't necessary.

I have been working at NYSE Euronext full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I loved the people I worked with and the work was challenging at times. The 9-5 was a nice change of pace. It was great to have access to the floor for bells and access to trading.

    Cons

I was there for 8 years. Things changed dramatically with all the acquisitions and now with the ICE takeover there is a great deal of uncertainty all around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose sight of who gets the job done. These people are working as hard as they can and really need to know they are appreciated.

I worked at NYSE Euronext part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my coworkers. Everyone from the executive level down was extremely friendly and professional. The after-work fringe benefits of all the listed companies was fantastic- 4th of July BBQ with Budweiser, St. Patricks Day with Guinness and Jameson, Cinco de Mayo with Corona and Jose Cuervo. Also, walking past the Trading Floor everyday made it feel like I was part of something big and historic.

    Cons

A lot of people of moved on since the merger and any future opportunities are cloudy for the near future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't let the culture and hard work of your employees get swallowed up in the merger.

I have been working at NYSE Euronext full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great colleagues and a sense of empowerment to do your best work. Ability to voice your opinion without fear of retaliation, good benefits, volunteer opportunities and flexible work environments, such as teleworking.

    Cons

Acquired by Intercontinental Exchange. Very different work culture. Seems to value keeping your head down and working long hours. At first glance very "Dickensian" though early days yet. Hopefully morale will improve (without any flogging).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication; true integration of existing policies that work. Try harder not to come off as forcing a perceived "square" peg into a round hole.
