    Pros

Highly dependent on your professor. Professors with more authority have more opportunities such PhDs available, company-collaborated projects. Very flexible working hours as long as you produce results in timely fashion and according to boss's expectations.
As NTU is a large organisation, you will get quite a fair deal of benefits (FlexiBen) as a research staff. 21 days of leave.

    Cons

Literally no career progression. slow increment in pay as well.

Find something more constructive for staff to do instead of flyers, minor detail checks and other trivial stuff every minute and every second.

I have been working at Nanyang Technological University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pro-family. Hardly any OT. Good for those who do not put career as priority.
    Nice environment.

    Cons

Far if you do not live in the west side.
    Work is hardly challenging.
    Poor career advancement.
Those who work in the corporate offices/ administrative are often less regarded. Academic staff are royals while administrative staff are lowly peasants.

    Pros

Good working environment and office culture. Normal working hours, rarely requires overtime or working on weekends. Relatively good benefits package.

    Cons

Relatively inaccessible as there is only one bus in and out (excluding the shuttle buses). Contract based - low job security with no much advancement opportunities. Bonus not as attractive - strict requirements.
