I have been working at Nathan Kline Institute

    Pros

    - a lot of hands-on knowledge to learn that can't be learned in the classroom or by reading
    - ability to work independently and within a group simultaneously
    - minimal micromanagement
    - adequate supervision provided

    Cons

    - very very low compensation for workload expectations
    - supervisor is disorganized and inefficient
    - atmosphere is closed doors, lacks vibrancy, and is typically older

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

NKI could be improved by higher salary and supervisor standards, and cross collaboration between lab groups in a more personal, direct manner.
