    Pros

Great benefit package, good stable company to work for. Many opportunities to grow within the company if you are dedicated and put the time in to learn the ins and outs.

    Cons

Upper management is somewhat disorganized with implementing new programs and policies. Many of our methods / programs / policies are out of date. Very tight budget and frugal with how they choose to spend the revenue.

    Pros

Large Organization with a lot of exposure to a true professional environment. Excellent colleagues with diverse and impressive backgrounds. Employees generally well managed and taken care of

    Cons

Compensation and Opportunity for advancement can be limited. Employ review process complicated and lengthy and can feel like your a statistic not a person. Moving on ideas or programs challenging because of the size of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Simplify - Organizations with this many people need to regularly look at process improvements, but at the same time encourage innovation by rewarding it. Benefits package is excellent but straight compensation could be improved, especially in some of the business lines where demand for qualified staff is high.

    Pros

Learn a lot that isn't in school. See a lot of large equipment in field. Field work is about 30%. Everyone is willing to answer questions about how the power grid works.

    Cons

Lot of downtime. Lack of "engineering tasks".

    Advice to Management

    Have more work for interns.

    Pros

You won't find a company less likely to fold than a utility. If you're looking for a 30+ year job, this is a great place to find it.

    Cons

Very unfocused upper management, sometimes seems like they churn just to keep changes happening.

    Advice to Management

Pick a plan, and stick to it. Listen to your subject matter experts. Focus on the day to day and the rest will fall into place.

    Pros

Pay, benefits, diversity, widespread geographical opportunities, high emphasis on safety

    Cons

Very large company, many layers, how your experience is will vary greatly depending on what area you work in.

    Advice to Management

The company is a good company to work for. I think as long as management remains open to promoting from within, they will continue to be successful.
