The crappest company I've ever worked for in my life !!

    Shipping (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsTruth is if you're not white, you're not right. No growth within this company not less you kiss butt. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

ConsThe benefits are great. 401K, Heath, Dental and paid vacation time. There's no chance of growth within NOV. This company sucks big time

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management team have their favorites and there's no fairness. Under pay sweatbox!! This is a company that discriminate against the disable. The whole management team at FM 529 are worthless.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Not a good experience

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Little Rock, AR

    ProsNo pros to speak of

ConsManagement is very pro senior and very rude. They show no respect to the younger generation. The company is not doing well at all and constantly have lay offs. They pay very poorly. Please stay away!

    NOV - Conroe Downhole Division

Manufacturing Manager (Former Employee) Conroe, TX

ProsEstblished product lines, engaged employees, quality products, solid customer base, and nice facilities.

ConsNo worklife balance, high employee turnover rate, excessive pressure to make improvements without agreed strategies, lack of owenership in responsibilities, false dataset being used in KPI's and the lack of acknowledgement of real data presented. The Conroe division spends too much time chasing problems and should become more employee friendly that would develop continous improvement and work environment for the employees and customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementGrow up! Remove the polictical barriers and take action\support change. Quit demanding unrealistic goals without providing the support and financials to make the improvement. Sure do more with less is a good thing and should be expected, but to do all with nothing is not practical or realistic. Take a look at self before blaming other and stop the verbal threats.

    Mind Boggling

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Sugar Land, TX

ProsThey have excellent benefits. Business always seems good so long term employment is a plus.

ConsAt the Sugarland facility management is terrible. You have to be in the inner circle to advance or be bad at your job. People are viewed as expendable so there is a large turnover in employees. You hardly ever see people smile out there.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere needs to be a change in management from the top all the way down to the shops. Old leaders with old ideas or ones who just don't care about the people. It's stagnant and needs new fresh leadership who cares about the people who actually make production happen. Without the shop employees this facility and any other are useless.

Great place to work if you find family irrelevant, love a crushing workload, and have no outside life

Senior Software Development Engineer (Former Employee) Cedar Park, TX

    ProsReasonably competitive salaries
    Some good product ideas
    Many of the

    ConsLittle strategic planning
Use layoffs rather than planning to manage the cyclical nature of oilfield service revenues
Engineering staff careens from disaster to disaster; "fight the biggest fire" mentality
    Not many employees over 55

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in R&D with the understanding that not every idea works or results in a salable product; that's why it's research.
