This company will let you get lots accomplished--the sky is the limit.

Pros – Good product platform and great growth opportunities. Small company feel, but global presence. Company has moved from single product, to much more diverse projects and products. Good scientists and exciting new projects. Some managers are very solid. Generally, the Company is not afraid to discipline employees who are not performing well, including terminating them as appropriate. Company pays well, even for the SF Bay Area.
Cons – Senior Mgmt can be elitist, and doesn't always demonstrate that lower level employees are valued as highly as senior level employees. Like many smaller companies, employees sometimes have to wear many hats, and provide coverage for each other frequently - this can be positive (new experiences) or challenging (take away from your progress).

Pros – The Nektar of the last few years has made great advances in providing the systems and support that employees need to get their jobs done. Management now diversifies the company so we're not dependent on a single drug anymore. The atmosphere is friendly, and the backstabbing is at a minimum.
Cons – Some of the employees who are long-term sometimes act like they're privileged or something, even though it's a fundamentally different company now.
What you did for Exubera means nothing anymore. Move forward!
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you're doing. People might not agree with every single move the company makes, but the overall direction is looking great.

Pros – Company has novel ideas and excellent group of people with freedom to operate
Cons – Too frequent changes in the top management resulted in good people leaving the company
Advice to Senior Management – Management must keep in mind those strengths of the company that brought laurels to the company and stop weakening those strengths!
