    Pros

The people that work for Nemours truly care, the mission is wonderful and overall the work life balance is very good. The benefits are great and the bridge to health future for children is a huge plus for anyone with children

    Cons

Nemours struggles with leadership spanning state lines, it is felt that the business and decisions are made out of the non-clinical home office in Jacksonville Florida. Most leaders in Jacksonville are seasoned experts, but rarely are seen in public around the Delaware sites. Job movement is tough as well with so many middle managers waiting to retire due to their pensions, making it challenging to move up the chain

    Pros

    Great Culture that was formed

    Cons

Management formed friendships over professionalism, it is unfair to those that are not considered in the inter-loops

    Pros

It's a really good children's hospital. Parents really know that the doctors and nurses care about their children. I feel that I'm making a difference in children's lives.

    Cons

The rigid pay scale and lack of funding for research means that I need to look elsewhere for a job, unfortunately. The red tape and "Performance Management" hoops to jump through are really annoying.

    Advice to Management

Not a fan of all the unnecessary emails and red tape.

    Pros

Opportunity to work in a children's medical facility. We only work Monday thru Friday and have the major holidays paid off. We do have a recognition program to recognize "Employees of the Month". We also can give "Spot Light Awards" which is a gift certificate for $20 to a local restaurant with approval from department manager's approval.

    Cons

There's not alot of opportunity for advancement in some of the job titles. Also, the person most qualified for a position is not always the person who gets promoted to a job. Our sick time, personal leave and vacation time is separate, it would be better to allow a bank of all hours together to be used at the employee's discretion. That way when people do not use sick leave they have the option to use that time for personal or vacation.

    Advice to Management

Need to have more discipline when the need arises; need to recognize the workers that go above and beyond and give merit raises

    Pros

You're helping take care of childrens' health regardless of their financial need. Most of the clinicians are excellent. They are good about allowing flex time.

    Cons

The pay is typical for a non-profit , meaning not-so-good.

    Advice to Management

The company is top-heavy with management. Your physicians are your lifeline- treat them well.
