Very Political

Senior Financial Analyst (Current Employee)
Florham Park, NJ

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than a year

ProsStability, you don't have to perform well to stay there, just do the status quo and you will be fine. OK environment to work in.

ConsBelow Average Pay, Very Political, be sure to play politics or you won't have a very good chance of moving up.

Manager

Plant Manager (Former Employee)
Tampa, FL

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than 5 years

ProsAfforded me an opportunity to use my experience and talents as an operations management professional.

ConsExecutives do not support their teams and are more concerned about their survival than what's best for the company. Few people want to lead, but desire to not make waves and go with the flow. They don't understand that to manage you sometimes have to confront poor performance.

Advice to Senior ManagementHold everyone accountable, Don't be afraid to disagree with your peers or upper management. People who patronize like to be patronized themselves, but rarely is the truth told when everyone says YES!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

okay company if you are an old timer, hiring freeze here at least before the move

Food Technologist (Former Employee)
Northbrook, IL

I worked at Nestlé as a contractor for less than a year

Proswork life balance was good, fun events happening at work

Constoo much gossiping going on which is unfortunately led by the fairer gender. All the work was put on contracts and with the move from this area, the management didn't even have the decency to give a heads up about ending the contract. I guess that is common to almost all big organizations in America. They say that they are in meetings but 60% of the time it was women sitting around gossiping about non-work stuff.

I am always willing to learn and apply new things (got the job because of that) but I hit a wall in the pizza area.

Advice to Senior ManagementI know that there is a hiring freeze but at least try to connect with employees, as bad communication with them would only lead to people having a bad impression of the company. I know that these people can "threaten" the jobs that you have been holding for 10+ years, but you will have to retire one day or even, gasp, let go by a company wide corporate shake up that could happen

Health and Environment Concerns

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Nestlé full-time

ProsCompany is known internationally and is considered as one of the biggest manufacturer in food industry.

ConsCompany has become greedy. It's not an environment and health-friendly company. Seems that they're not concern about the public's food nutrition but only strive for their profit.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpdate your products and ingredients to more sustainable ones and do not exploit the earth's resources.

Smoke and Mirrors

Group Leader, Mechanic Operator (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than 5 years

ProsHigh Pay, Good benefits, work environment

Conslots of ideas, programs, committees and meetings when nothing was being accomplished asked "do you have a budget?" " well ... No" was the answer, most metrics had fabricated data that's how they trained you to take them. Bad outcomes or information sugarcoated or "See No Evil. Hear No Evil, Say No Evil" 'd, Had 15 different production supervisors in 48 months.

Advice to Senior ManagementVerify ALL numbers good and bad.

This was the most stressful customer service job I ever had.

Customer Service (Former Employee)
Raynham, MA

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThe pay and benefits are great.

ConsThey will always make you feel like you are a little under par. The customers scream at you all day then the managers pick you apart. I watch all my friends get fired for stupid reasons, and then they complain they don't have enough help.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop firing all your good people.

Was a great company (Dreyer's Ice Cream) until bought out by Nestle.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Oakland, CA

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than 10 years

ProsPretty decent pay, talented folks who work there. The benefits are excellent. Flexible work schedule. The department I worked for had managers that didn't micro-manage. Trusted us to do our jobs our way, as long as the end result was the same.

ConsExpectations are high, no work-life balance. More and more of what made going to work special and unique from other companies, became quite the opposite. Changes being implemented by upper management. Company would promote "health and wellness company" but yet we are being asked to sell some of the most unhealthy products. (Hot Pockets, chocolates, etc)

Advice to Senior ManagementNot that anyone in management now even cares because come on, this is a corporate giant... but you should have really not messed with a company that was already running a tight ship. It's a shame what's happened to what was once voted one of the top companies to work for in the Bay Area. (NOT anymore)

More work More hours Same or less Money

Sales Representative (Current Employee)
Fort Lauderdale, FL

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than 10 years

ProsI have a job Good benfits

ConsI am a number. Big corprate BS. Act like they care but realy don;t give a rats ass. Just work longer hours with less help but increase sales numbers. Work weekends Work holidays.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart listening to the people in the field that deal our customers everyday. You make all the changes with no imput from the field. Mangers are hired out of college and the people that have 10 15 20 25 years on the job have no say
