I have been working at Nestlé full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great Pay, 2 weeks off at the end of the year, if your a supervisor you get paid if you are an hourly employee your forced to use your vacation or get load off the last two weeks of the year.

    Cons

Upper Management really does not care about their supervisors and it makes it hard for supervisors to do their job. Supervisors get blamed for everything and their is a lot of bullying. The hours are terrible so be prepared to got to work at 2:00 am.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leaders at the plant need to go.

I have been working at Nestlé full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Pay is decent, good benefits and paid time off.

    Cons

Terrible work life balance. No information ever passed down from upper management. Upper management has zero interactions with off shift personnel. Mind set is if your not there more than 5 years you don't matter. Mandatory overtime, including mandatory 6 day work week. They have a "committee" for everything but nothing changes. Old guard will never change. New hires are told there is occasional overtime but soon realize upon starting that occasional means every day. Upper management should work warehouse hours since they don't think we have a work-life balance problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees (other than those on dayshift). Stop forcing water work down everybody's throat. Try working our hours.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Afforded me an opportunity to use my experience and talents as an operations management professional.

    Cons

Executives do not support their teams and are more concerned about their survival than what's best for the company. Few people want to lead, but desire to not make waves and go with the flow. They don't understand that to manage you sometimes have to confront poor performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold everyone accountable, Don't be afraid to disagree with your peers or upper management. People who patronize like to be patronized themselves, but rarely is the truth told when everyone says YES!

    Pros

Stability, you don't have to perform well to stay there, just do the status quo and you will be fine. OK environment to work in.

    Cons

Below Average Pay, Very Political, be sure to play politics or you won't have a very good chance of moving up.

I worked at Nestlé as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

work life balance was good, fun events happening at work

    Cons

too much gossiping going on which is unfortunately led by the fairer gender. All the work was put on contracts and with the move from this area, the management didn't even have the decency to give a heads up about ending the contract. I guess that is common to almost all big organizations in America. They say that they are in meetings but 60% of the time it was women sitting around gossiping about non-work stuff.

I am always willing to learn and apply new things (got the job because of that) but I hit a wall in the pizza area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know that there is a hiring freeze but at least try to connect with employees, as bad communication with them would only lead to people having a bad impression of the company. I know that these people can "threaten" the jobs that you have been holding for 10+ years, but you will have to retire one day or even, gasp, let go by a company wide corporate shake up that could happen

    I worked at Nestlé full-time

    Pros

Company is known internationally and is considered as one of the biggest manufacturer in food industry.

    Cons

Company has become greedy. It's not an environment and health-friendly company. Seems that they're not concern about the public's food nutrition but only strive for their profit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update your products and ingredients to more sustainable ones and do not exploit the earth's resources.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

High Pay, Good benefits, work environment

    Cons

lots of ideas, programs, committees and meetings when nothing was being accomplished asked "do you have a budget?" " well ... No" was the answer, most metrics had fabricated data that's how they trained you to take them. Bad outcomes or information sugarcoated or "See No Evil. Hear No Evil, Say No Evil" 'd, Had 15 different production supervisors in 48 months.
