I worked at NetSuite full-time for more than a year
Pros – The product is great, it offers a lot to businesses who use it, and it's logical which makes it great to use every day. The HSA is good, not amazing, but good. The 401K is probably a step above a lot of other companies. They have great participation in the fun offices with programs like Suite Volunteers where you can volunteer on company time.
Cons – Departments and offices are left to their own devices which results in a terrible work environment. Basically, the company has gotten so big that there is nothing that will/can do to remove a bad manager. And HR won't help you. I had evidence in writing and went for HR to help only to be told "we'll get back to you." Then, nothing. They can't help and won't tell you as much. Even when other VPs and Managers are WELL aware of a manager who is breaking policies and acting un-ethically, they don't do anything about it. Some offices are great - lots of fun, great people, etc. But offices that are bad are ignored rather than fixed. It's almost like the company is too afraid to remove people.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of managers in the retail vertical who don't know how to do their jobs. Replace director/management in HR when they are alerted to un-ethical situations and take no action. Monitor the promises HR makes to employees and doesn't act on.

I have been working at NetSuite full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good 401K
Excellent Product - Very cool technology
Cons – 'Boys club mentality' Very few women in sales management and virtually none in senior sales management. Heavy layers of middle management. making it very difficult to make any changes. Very little hiring from the outside, so incompetent managers are promoted to incompetent directors and so on.
Advice to Senior Management – Eliminate layers of middle management...hire from outside to breathe new life into the organization.

I worked at NetSuite
Pros – Pay is competitive.
Other employees are generally good to work with.
The office is centrally located with good freeway access.
Cons – The Engineering department doesn't believe in good design, nor basic OO principles. The code is rushed into production. The internal mantra is "Execution Beats Strategy".
Career development is a dead-end. Upper management takes virtually no interest in fostering career growth.
Upper management constantly shuffles teams and team members. This happens so frequently that it is impossible to build momentum as an organization.
There is no synergy between product team departments.
Advice to Senior Management – Elicit feedback from employees.
Foster career growth.

I worked at NetSuite
Pros – NetSuite pays competitive salaries and commissions. After that it's a steep drop-off to make any compelling arguments in favor of working at NetSuite.
Cons – As many others have noted, senior management has absolutely no vision. They change their minds every six month as to what the current strategy is. There's a reason for this. The strategy is to do whatever it takes to get the next customer to sign on the bottom line. That means the hodgepodge of customers drive the strategy, not senior management.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice to the board is to replace the CEO (and other senior management) with someone that has actual vision. The constant shifting of focus creates a lack of confidence not only in the marketplace, but within NetSuite itself.

I worked at NetSuite
Pros – Probably just the Product, as it's a good clever product and lots of potential
Cons – Being honest it is the worst company I ever worked for. Mgmt skills are ziltch; and you are expected to work non stop. All a shame because Netsuite is a good product but Mgmt will crumble the company if they dont change their ways. There is no work life balance at all and neither do they care or promote. If you want to enhance your career, forget NS as their promotion is based on who you know and not your work.
Advice to Senior Management – Wake Up, make a change - Listen & be fair to your employees or you will lose the passionate hardworkers that make up the company. Happy Employees make Productive Employees !
