Current Employee – been working at Neuberger Berman full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Depending on group and manager there is flex time and the ability to sometimes work from home
Cons – Lack of mobillity and training for those employees who want to advance. At some times, Management's view appears to be if you don't like things, leave.
Advice to Senior Management – (1) Provide more training such as mentor programs or basic training sessions for those who want to advance or transition into other areas. The lunch and learn is nice, but not realistic to help one advance or obtain real hands on experience. (2) 401k match needs to be better

Current Employee – been working at Neuberger Berman
Pros – Communication from top is clear. Supportive management as long as we take the initiative. Benefits are competitive. People are helpful and knowledgeable
Cons – Firm is small so upward mobility is challenging. Benefits need to improve on the 401K match and annual pay increase. Stagnant for few years
Advice to Senior Management – Make 401K more competitive by matching a higher percent and dollar amount. Allocate more resources for employee training to improve skills and learn new technology.

Current Employee – been working at Neuberger Berman
Pros – Great location for East Side Manhattan residents. Experience and knowledge of Portfolio Managers enable those directly supporting them to learn technical details while on the job.
Cons – Career mobility takes time, and seems unsupported by former managers. The building could use some improvements, specifically the bathrooms and workspaces. No 401k matching.
Advice to Senior Management – Stick to businesses that work, and are the core of Neuberger Berman's history. Don't become another Lehman Brothers, investing too heavily in areas that continue to lose money. As a mutual fund company, 401k matching needs to be added as a benefit.
