    Pros

Free snacks, soda, and coffee. Good pay and health benefits (as good as Yahoo!, Google, and Apple minus free transportation). Good place to work if you're a woman and you don't care to go into a management role. Beautiful building and nice location, but far from Caltrain.

    Cons

No onsite gym and long commutes for people who don't work in SF. Company moved from Silicon Valley (Mountain View) to SF claiming they would recruit better engineering talent. However, from what I have heard, they are struggling to recruit engineering folks to make the long commute from Silicon Valley. No company direction and no career growth. A lot of favoritism. It's all who you know, not what you know that will land you career growth at Neustar. High turnover, and low morale.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a few products and not a bunch of products. Not enough bodies to handle all of the different products. Management has no clear execution of plans for the future.

    Pros

Company has a lot of money. Workplace has lots of free snacks, espresso, low expectations.

    Cons

High leadership and engineering turnover. No direction. CEO seems to feel her job is to entertain rather than lead. Other than CFO senior leadership seems unclear on what their responsibilities are besides drawing salaries.

    Advice to Management

Decide whether to spin off engineering or not. If you are serious about web management products make a plan and communicate that to those who will implement it.

    Pros

The chemistry was great initially. they encouraged corporate culture and promoted corporate events. neustar makes a concerted effort to break into the best workplace list. Catered events and wellness programs are great.

    Cons

Constantly changing direction and corporate message to the public. They constantly add additional responsibilities or change targets mid year without additional compensation.

    Pros

It is a large, publicly traded company with opportunity to sell leading edge technology. There are weekly product training webinars.

    Cons

It is a pressure filled atmosphere. You have to make alot of phone calls if you are in the sales department.

    Advice to Management

The new CEO should keep the innovation going, and develop plans to successfully compete with other companies in the same space.
