    Pros

My coworkers! I have learned a lot ( i.e. Handling customer issues, multi tasking, and stress management).

    Cons

BEWARE!!!!!!! No breaks, constantly having to help other stores, CREDIT CARDS, upper mismanagement, promotional changes numerous times a week (the entire store), outdated policies & misleading coupons! High employee turnover (lower and upper management). As an assistant you will do 90% of the management workload for half the pay. If you do not open enough credit cards you will be threatened and eventually written up. No balance between work and personal life

    Advice to Management

STOP with "NY deal" and coupons! Don't preach customer first, but yet continue upset your customers and have your management at the front lines of your mistakes! Have more respect for your employees- it insults our intelligence and talent. Lastly, do not set your stores up for failure and then blame the us, the stores. Invest money into your product (training, store upkeep, and clothing).

    Pros

The discount that you get on clothes is great after your 60 day waiting period

    Cons

    No work life balance
    Unrealistic expectations
    Poor communication
    Terrible benefits
    Unrealistic bonus potential
    Lack of technology
    Not tolerant of diversity

    Advice to Management

Spend more time in the stores speaking to the management to get honest feedback, there is no opportunity to discuss the issues we are facing with out fear of retaliation

    Pros

They pay you well to get you to come to their organization but that is it.

    Cons

The worst company to ever work for. They are always conducting lay offs and restructuring which doesn't say anything good about this company. Headquarters management is the worst I have seen in all my years in the industry. They are so cheap and have no budgets to do you job effectively.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the C level management because they don't know how to run a company. This company has a horrible reputation in the industry and I didn't find out until it was to late.

    Cons

Corporate (expects you to change a sale when they snap their fingers!)
    Management
    Hours

    Advice to Management

Stop being so mean to your employees...they keep the store running!

    Pros

Possibly the hours and coworkers. Not too many pros working for this horrible company

    Cons

Everything else. Customers, management and the amount of work for the little bit of pay they give you. You don't get a schedule until Sunday of that week , no direct deposit and you can't even view pay stubs online ! I was not used to that

    Advice to Management

Learn to talk nicer to your associates; they are not your kids !

    Pros

    Quickly interviewed and hired.
Only half of the training provided.
    Close to my home.
A discount to buy NY&C clothes

    Cons

Must call in 2 or more times per week to find out if you are on the schedule to work before schedule is actually ready. It is also ready on a different day each week. Required to buy cloths for front end work even when asked mostly to work in warehouse. Unhappy staff, managers and customers. All of this is fixable.
Asked multiple weekends to be available on call, but never called in, losing other work opportunities for family functions.
Management unavailable to finish weekly schedules.
    Missing pay never addressed.
Many excuses stating they because they are training "new" people so they don't have work for those trained, But never actually firing anyone. Just asking to continue checking in for work and to be available to work for them on a moments notice. While others at the store have steady, predictable work schedule.

    Advice to Management

No regard for store employees. No proper training procedures. No modern business systems like on-line work schedules, email etc. No regard for disabled employees that have to rely on transportation systems to get to work.
Would do better and make more money to work as a day laborer than waste each week hoping they have a few hours.

    Pros

The discount is great, so you have the potential to have a large wardrobe of great business and casual clothing. The dress code is lenient so you can be creative and have fun with your outfits each day.

    Cons

Not enough staff for each shift. It's impossible to provide stellar customer service, prevent shoplifting, and keep the clothing stocked and organized when it's only you or you and another person on the floor for an entire shift.
The pay is minimal. You could work less and make more at some of the other big box stores.
You have to push credit cards HARD. You have to mention it to the customer on the salesfloor, again in the fitting room, and then ask at the register. You're basically harassing the customer until they say yes. If you don't, your hours will be cut.
Because of the lack of staff, you won't get your breaks. You'll get a 30 minute lunch that you clock out for, but a 15 minute break just to rest? Not gonna happen.

    Advice to Management

Staff your stores better if you want to prevent shoplifting, keep customers happy, and keep your staff from walking out the door from being run ragged. Stop pushing credit cards so hard. The card is actually a great deal, but no one wants to be harassed or they will stop shopping altogether and associates don't want to continually upset their customers. If you staffed stores enough to prevent the mass amount of shoplifting, you'd make enough money to not need to push credit cards so much.

    Pros

The pros is that it's easy to get day offs
The people I work where very nice
The discounts are good, especially since they have a lot of good stuff the discounts help:

    Cons

    There's constant floor changes
They have false advertising that the customers complain to us about
There's no team work in where I work, I constantly do most of the work
The manager is very lazy and she doesn't understand what to do.
The corporate people are not very understanding when it comes to the situation with my store
They're always trying to sell credit, even though the people who go to our store is mostly the usual.
The customers are very rude by my area.

    Advice to Management

Stop the false advertising. Need to stop making constant changes every month.
