I have been working at New York & Company part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The main thing I really enjoy about working at NY&CO is the emphasize on customer service. I also really enjoyed my management team and other co-workers.

    Cons

The coupon limitations, the constant promotional changes, and the large emphasize on getting credit.

    Advice to Management

    Make less coupon limitations

I have been working at New York & Company full-time

    Pros

Great people. Good benefits. Flexible hours

    Cons

Extremely fast paced and changing daily. Must be ready all the time.

    Advice to Management

Promotions need to be rethought. The customers get upset. It's hurting your customer base.

I have been working at New York & Company part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Amazing discount -Fast paced environment -Love my co workers and managers -You get to interact with so many loyal customers, you really create an amazing bond! And at the same time you are contributing to the company. -If you want to advance in management this is a great place to grow! I love this company so much! So much opportunity to grow. I'm now on my path to being an ASM. I've had the opportunity of working at one of the biggest stores so to be able to say I came from that store makes me proud. I'm just proud of where I work. To help women everyday feel great about themselves is rewarding. All negative comments are irrelevant... This is retail people. Get over it.

    Cons

-Mmmmm I have nothing bad to say? I really enjoy my job.

    Advice to Management

-To be able to say you interact with your DM is pretty cool. Not a lot of companies could say they know who their DM is.

    Advice to Management

Be considerate to your employees schedule, especially if they are students

I have been working at New York & Company full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company culture. Outlet division has tons of potential for advancement. Retail has lots of opportunity for entry level management.

    Cons

Scheduling is difficult, payroll is always tight.

    Advice to Management

Offer a method to reward hard working, amazing associates with raises more frequently. Once a year for 15-35 cents an hour is not motivational.

I worked at New York & Company part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pretty decent pay for retail, super flexible schedule, laid back atmosphere, decent discount.

    Cons

Selling those stupid credit cards to customers, management sometimes based job performance solely on the ability to sell the credit card rather than the ability to sell clothes and provide customer service. It almost seemed like customers who weren't spending hundreds of dollars or credit card holders weren't treated equally.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on customer service instead of shoving credit cards down the customer's throat
