I worked at NextEra Energy, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Previous leaders ensured your success. Rewarded well for hard and smart work. Engaged in community volunteerism. Good education programs for leaders.

    Cons

Shareholder value is high; hardly any short term goals. Certain management created divides for self goals. Work-life balance has not improved and has worsened. Hardly able to take a vacation.

I worked at NextEra Energy, Inc. as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Matt Fuller is probably the best manager I've ever worked with in my (rather extensive) career.

    Cons

The company has some political intrigue, and, like all large companies, there are some folks you'd just as soon not have to deal with, but that's true of just about anywhere, so it's not really something to hold against NextEra in particular.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you believe a project is important enough to highlight it to the rest of the company, it probably deserves an annual budget somewhat larger than $100k when it has a long list of unfinished and/or much-desired features, wouldn't you say?

I worked at NextEra Energy, Inc. as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great pay, friendly co-workers and contractors, always keep busy with a varied amount of interesting projects and Juno is a great area.

    Cons

Training program needs work. You are more or less dropped into your cubicle with your laptop and not given any individualized training. You are expected to either know whatever is needed already or know where to find it quickly. Be prepared to ask lots of questions to figure out where stuff is on their servers.
