    Pros

Flexibility of hours, company car and benefits. You can self manage your day, Bonus and incentives can be good.

    Cons

Low base pay. Management tends to be in crisis mode rather than looking at the whole picture. Continually change pay structure.

I worked at Nielsen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn and many fantastic people in the organization, great work/life balance (most of the time).

    Cons

Holding company's objectives have put huge pressure on costs, including compensation. As with any company, the politics game gets a little tiring.

    Advice to Management

Time for a salary review - lowest salaries in the industry.

    Pros

    - good culture - the average age on my team is about 25 - good work/life balance- 8 hour work day is the norm across almost all teams

    Cons

    - the pay is not great - may be difficult to get client exposure

I worked at Nielsen as an intern

    Pros

You get exposure to clients and you are given responsibility over important tasks! There are a lot of opportunities to learn and they treat you like a real employee! Colleagues are also super friendly and it is easy to feel comfortable in such an environment. The Nielsen brand name is also very strong - so it is good to have on your resume.

    Cons

There is a sentiment that many employees feel overworked, which causes a lot of negativity and high turnover. Even as an intern, I felt seriously overworked at times. Career progression is also very slow - at LEAST 2 years. Could be way more.

    Advice to Management

Managers need more training on how to better manage and motivate those under them. Currently, managers are very good at the tasks they perform, but many times they do not seem to know how to be good at managing people.

I worked at Nielsen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nurturing bosses, certain aspects of the work are interesting.

    Cons

Software installation and troubleshooting skills required which are technical and can be frustrating. Manual data checks also take up a lot of time and there is no automated way of checking. Salary is low.

    Advice to Management

    Increase salary offer

I worked at Nielsen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The position does not allow for a lot of creative freedom, which is a plus because your performance is less subjective and it's easy to improve if your goals are not met.

    Cons

This is an extremely large company and it can be very difficult to feel as though you are more than a number.

    Advice to Management

Support your employees and their ideas and you will thrive.

    Pros

Inviting coworkers that were eager to assist in your learning process, plenty of volunteer and further education programs/seminars, easy to network and get involved through ERG groups

    Cons

Fluctuation in work loads means less job security, high required quality rating needs to be met or you face probation and being terminated with no middle ground for those just under the limit.

    Advice to Management

It would have been nice to have some middle ground, so that it isn't life or death in metrics
