    Pros

a few years ago, the pros of this company would not have fit on a full sheet of paper.....now, I have nothing but a nice building. Too bad there won't be anyone in it.

    Cons

poor management, poor decisions, setting company up for failure.

    Advice to Management

Not sure who is making the decisions as who to promote and who to let go, but it isn't working - is it? You have to keep people that know what is going on and can help and promote the company, instead of using back stabbers as the basis of the work. Wake up, before you destroy a good company.

    Pros

    The location. Nice new building

    Cons

Upper management are allowed to run their department poorly and create a hostile environment. Good ole boy, high school click mentally.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals and wake up before they end in a very bad law situation. Allowing upper management to violate a person rights. Bully should not be allowed.

    Pros

not many pros at all. Can't think of one at this moment.

    Cons

Won't hire contractors until a year of employment. Management does not care to hear the facts about certain higher ups going way over budget on items and then hiding the fact. Just not nice people. But I am sure they caught on recently, that is why they have had to cut back so much lately. Very political and sad atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to people, not just your direct reports.

    Pros

They pay very well - at least the part they don't take back when they dump you.

    Cons

Third world management skills trying to compete in a first world game. Locker room mentality and 7th grade politics will take this company to it's knees. Grandma will soon learn that these yahoos are not the place to park her hard earned retirement money and down the house of cards shall come.

    Advice to Management

Evolve, grow up, this is not a popularity contest. Oh yeah, I think the day of kings killing their strongest sons have passed.....oh say, a few hundred years ago. But go ahead and keep the flow of 'I-just-shaved-for-the-first-time' staff coming in the door....they won't even notice your monumental incompetence.

    Pros

Generally, colleagues and line management are supportive and great to work with. High caliber employees.

    Cons

Left a good, stable company to join Noble only to have my job threatened within months of joining. Red flag is that hardly anyone here has been here longer than 1-2 years. No stability or opportunity for advancement without leaving the company. Do NOT see corporate decisions valuing or putting employees first. Outright lied about compensation in terms of bonus and long term incentives.

    Advice to Management

Put employees first and create an environment where people can advance in career and salary internally.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Atmosphere is generally positive. Lots of nice people to work with.

    Cons

As with any company there are bad managers as well as good ones, so in some departments the atmosphere is not so good. In my experience it seems that who you know is more important than doing a good job. That is what worries me about the pending "reduction in force."

    Advice to Management

When deciding who to let go, maybe you should consider who actually gets the job done.

    Pros

working with good people who want to do a good job and are willing to help each other. being a pumper is a good job and nice to work outside.

    Cons

incompetent management from the very top to the bottom. they have completely ruined the work atmosphere. they have taken our retirement and retirement insurance insurance away and put the company in a financial mess but spend money on tv commercials and newspaper adds to fool the public into thinking it is a upstanding company. employees are forced to volunteer to work at the food bank by supervisors and all field employees are required to work on every holiday including christmas and thanksgiving. the company has created a huge divide between office and field employees.

    Advice to Management

quit, resign, you have morally and financially ruined a great company. close your mouths and open your ears and listen to the great people of this company before it is to late.

    Pros

Pay and bonuses were decent and there was a variety of work going on, enabling exposure to new things. There was also a good balance of home and work. Half day Fridays were nice.

    Cons

The culture was very cut throat. With such rapid growth, everyone was trying to stake a claim for themselves by throwing their peers under the bus. There are people like that everywhere you go, but at NE, it is the accepted corporate culture. You don't move up with out tearing others down. Management feeds into that. Also, very poor financial sense. Spending inordinate amount of money on a new building, crazy expensive art installations, and other frivolous things while cutting back on the things that were important to the employee. Now, with the downturn of the industry, they find themselves cutting further and scraping to pay the bills. The employees pay the price.

    Advice to Management

Spend more wisely. Save for a rainy day. Also, tend to the culture. There are people that are good at what they do and willing to work hard, but when they see only the dishonest get ahead, the good ones move on to a better place.

    Pros

Not any that I could see.

    Cons

Very political environment. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing and they don't care. They don't care if one department is over budget by millions. The employees seem to hate their jobs and do not even say Hi to people. There does not seem to be any "Team work" at all. People who have been there a long time have titles that are not earned and their position certainly is not respected. They need to do a management overhaul, especially in the Denver office. Paying a larger salary does not mean people will be happy.

    Advice to Management

Practice your leadership skills, if you actually have them. Plant some strong people in the Denver office and see what they are doing and how they are treating people. Noble office in Denver is giving O&G as BAD name in Colorado! For goodness sake, give a snow day when it is needed, no sense in putting people in danger when they can work at home just as efficiently.
