I have been working at Noble Energy (More than a year)

    Pros

-Great people -Relaxed work environment -Abbreviated work week (four hour Fridays) -Good benefits -Good pay -Great balance between work and life; the job doesn't consume you like some can and do

    Cons

-"Performance" bonuses are a large part of overall compensation, and you have little control over how the company performs as a whole, especially in times of lower commodity prices -Appalachian business unit is relatively young, so there are not many standard practices in place

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance, decent 401k match, management is fairly easy to work under, you have the ability to move around, decent culture

    Cons

Uncompetitive pay, overall pretty poor benefits compared to peer companies, huge disconnect between upper /middle management and lower management/supervisors, and a huge disconnect between lower level management/supervisors and regular employees, very disorganized. Questionable people in all sorts of management positions, not easy to move up. This company no longer has the employees best interest in mind

    Advice to Management

    Where should I start...

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

The company is very stable and forward-thinking. They are in-line with other oil and gas companies as far as benefits and salary goes.

    Cons

Due to the drop in oil and gas prices, re-organizing and layoffs ensued. That naturally creates stress and hurts morale among the employees.

    Advice to Management

There are not many opportunities for advancement or defined career paths in certain departments. Upward mobility is a continual unknown.

PA Office in Transition, But Promising Future

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

After downturns in the oil and gas market, and layoffs in all offices, Noble is in transition. The Canonsburg office underwent a change in management, and it remains to be seen exactly where the office is headed - but it looks promising. Many of the issues from the past management in this office are finally being addressed. The future looks good.

    Cons

The previous management structure was chaotic and created a lot of bickering among employees. Morale has improved over the last month, but the situation isn't completely settled down yet because we are still in transition. I personally would like to see more minorities here and some women in higher positions, but the lack of that is mostly the result of former management. We'll have to wait and see how the shake-up here shakes out.

    Advice to Management

Implement a structure where everyone knows their job in relation to others. There are still a lot of "fuzzy" areas and people step on each other's toes, or else they don't really have good guidance.

    Pros

    The location. Nice new building

    Cons

Upper management are allowed to run their department poorly and create a hostile environment. Good ole boy, high school click mentally.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals and wake up before they end in a very bad law situation. Allowing upper management to violate a person rights. Bully should not be allowed.
