    Pros

I enjoyed working here because of the uncapped potential to make money and form a customer base. Nordstrom values hard work ethic. Even though you are on commission, you are never permitted to sit back. Nordstrom values customer service more than any other company that I know, so do not work here u less you are positive and know how to genuinely smile.

    Cons

Cons to working here are the strict time punch clock. If you are off by a few minutes, you will hear about it. Another con is that all employees are required to close the store.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management would be to make sure that all department managers are as positive as you expect the sales people to be. Many department managers are over worked and over tired and as a result are not at their Nordstrom best.

    Pros

Great company to work for with a lot of room for growth.

    Cons

Sometimes customers are allowed to abuse the staff. That's taking Customer Service to the extreme..

    Advice to Management

Give entry level employees information on how to expand their careers with the many options your company offers besides sales staff.

    Pros

    -Great with environment
-No limits to the amount of commission you can make
    -Easy interview process
-Easy transition to any partner companies (nordstrom rack or hautelook)
    -Promote from within

    Cons

-Little freedom to actually "run your business" unless you're a personal stylist. You may use all tips even if they don't work for you to attract customers
    -Customer appointments depict business

    Pros

Friendly management, great compensation, amazing learning experience, looks great on your resume, training, there were a lot of department store meetings to amp up the environment

    Cons

long hours, commission sharks, mean coworkers, often times you would feel your morals are being conflicted with the return policy, for example, a group of teenagers came in to return merchandise that amounted up to $400, they were barely 16 but the as the return policy permits...

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would hire staff that they are confident would be reliable. There were many girls coming and going because they hadn't had previous experience.
