I worked at North Carolina State University part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I was a student worker who worked as a Community Assistant and was promoted to Community Assistant Coordinator. Looking back, that was the most satisfied I have ever been with a job. Great boss, no drama, and truly enjoyed the job.

    Cons

Creating employee schedules was the worst part just because of everyone's class schedules. It was a minor bump in the road. My workers were always happy to help out however they could.

I have been working at North Carolina State University as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

NC State University is a great environment to work in. The many staff members I work with are hard-working, innovative, and always focusing towards improving NC State's Community.

    Cons

The only challenge I have working is that I am also currently enrolled full time as a student. The internship is very rewarding and I wish that I could devote more time into it.

    - Helpful mentors
    - Lots of professional development opportunities
    - Raleigh is a nice city - not too big, not too small

    Cons

I worked at North Carolina State University as an intern (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company values are centered around respect and helpfulness. I highly recommended college students to begin their work at their own university!

    Cons

The salary is lower and the work is less challenging due to the fact a student has restricted access to information. However, it is a great place to begin career networking before getting the real job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Considering speeding up the process of arranging work or hiring positions.

I worked at North Carolina State University as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

I had great co-workers and very trained and prepared advisors. I learned a lot about professional development and career searching as well as public speaking. I always felt like I was in a safe, encouraging environment with a great support system.

    Cons

It was sometimes difficult to plan school work around time commitments to the volunteer position. Also, there were late Friday meetings that kept me from traveling out of town sooner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
